Inky ghost swells

Inky ghost swells

A Poem by Frieda P

"
They're just ghosts, yet
      the reason to carry on
  within misty haunted spaces,
inky swell's gut wrenching screams
      gushing in emotion's notions
blotting memories' rhyme
  rose red's unheard dispersion
hung in untimely compulsion
  bloating infraction's heady chimes
quarter past forget-me-knots
   breathes through starry skies,
      bleeding 'tween scar tissue
slipped a noose in honor
   of dynasty's regal baptism
     alleged devotional prayers
still wallowing in disbelief,
   revelation's in chapter and verse
of righteous indignation's denial
  judgement of kingdom come's
        concluded restitution,
dancing amidst horizons's
         spiritually cursed compensation

Ahhh Mama F, it's poetry likes that makes everything all the worthwhile, to sit down, after a hard day(s) and read you makes my days so much brighter. I just hate when I can't/don't read you, makes me feel like I am missing something.

This, for me, hit the jackpot. xoxo

Gave me chills to read this...spirits linger with us long after they are gone. The beauty you inspire with words that are so sad is always amazing to me. I dont think many writers can accomplish that without sounding trite or morbid. Even your darkest lines cause a state of awe. I'm always amazed by you and what you do. xo

i can so relate to this one right now, and you understand that i am sure...

but some ghosts are comforting, understanding...just as they were in life, those spirits touch our shoulder with gentleness.

Hauntingly beautiful my friend. I saw ghosts crying in the night, trying to discover why they are still linked to a world that they are no longer a part of.

Your poetry flows so beautifully and is rich in lovely imagery. I feel like some of it should be set to music. ;)

There is such bleakness in this piece in spite of your gorgeous word choice. Should we be dammed religiously or just walk the world aimlessly as ghosts. It seems at times we are the walking dead. Life can certainly be that way. This poem punches gently but repeatedly.

spiritually cursed compensation. Not sure what it is about it but that line sticks with me.

Such a rich pattern of words and thoughts flowing to the ultimate conclusion. I always find I have to reread your work a number of times to get all the concepts, and I am never sure I have caught them all. Well done, yet again Lady F.
