Déjà vu due

Déjà vu due

A Poem by Frieda P
"

_an old preponderance revisited_

"
We are given breath, we die
what fills those pages in between
are the complexities of life's illusions
      innuendos of an oblique allusion

Kismet, fate, some divine intervention
or sublime alchemy of heart's desires,
paths we take are sometimes vague
is it all predestined or are we fated
    as humans to determine
            our very own journey's path

Has it been written on cumulative skies,
     upon
the stars long ago,
some crystalline clouds or tissue paper,
should we abjure constellation's foreboding signs
in the echoes of past tribulations

Is déjà vu the very life we've repeated,
   fallen 'neath soul's intrinsic liquid
like hot lava that bubbles and churns
my muse ponders these unanswered queries,
if life is preordained, once conceived,
or do we create our own poetry's

What an awesome piece... Really enjoyed this one a lot...What beautiful prose...i so want my poetry to take a lesson off you! :) A friend of mine had a theory that we experience such phenomena because we have already lived that moment in a parallel universe and he believes we see it because we change it. This poem asks and answers all. I would like my destiny to be written by a poet.... oh, wouldn't that be nice...:)

You humble me, don't put yourself in a corner, I've read your stuff, you can do this. :)
This is really attractive writing . It makes me want to get out of my seat as I read it. Not sure if it is just my current state as well or is this a slight variation from Frieda's "normal" writings. The questions of old but delicately shared the tension between destiny and freedom. I am glad she posses the questions as I can only be a spectator and join the questions in my own way. I liked the way the acceptance may come in and then say: OK but if that is so then I'll fill it up with poetry irrespectevely.

Thankyou.

Wow...so many questions Frieda...its to early in the morning for all that deep introspect!! Lol... But I am getting groovy to the song. Thinking I need some incense and maybe a little happy smoke. Hahaha....

Personally I believe some thing's are predestined...if you take the right paths. But stray from that cosmic way and you wont ever reach that intended place in life. Which is of course because we all have free will in life. Ive never bought into that everything happens for a reason...God has a purpose for your suffering crap. Because everyone has freewill our lives are inevitably effected by others. But that's not because God is trying to teach you some grand lesson or has some higher purpose for your life. I want to puke every time someone says that to a rape or child abuse victim or some one who has lost a loved one. Still ive had a few experiences where dejavu was so strong it couldn't be explained. This is one of my favorite recent writes by you...

With the thought in mind (as soon as I saw the title,) that no matter the twists and turns, our path in life is set from cradle to grave, I immersed myself in these wonderfully philosophical lines.

Perhaps the answer to the question is that we are all born with the gift to draw from the well of our own preordained creativity.

This is a favorite. Beccy.

I like that thought, thanks so much Beccy.
i have that album .. have seen them in concert .. so blessed by your choice!

i have not read you so clearly waxing philosophical .. to be predestined or not to be .. is that the question?? i like the turmoil of un-answering that question ... let my uncertain certainty roil in your lava!
perhaps its the preponderance that matters .. what a treat to read this poem! thank you for sharing .. your word choices as always are spectacular in my opinion

I suppose that's the mystery of life itself, all those unanswered questions. Grazie mille E.
Eloquent but darkly painted question in multilayered poetry that feels chilled by the constancy of the north wind when one seeks happiness but it is denied time and time again.

A very interesting question … I would like to think the universe has a plan that looks like chaos to us … so it holds our interest. Brilliant write, here, lady poet.

Planned chaos, sounds like my life haha....thanks so much Pryde Peacock.
Some interesting and well worded thoughts expressed in this one. Speaking of deja vu, I had passed a link to another song on this album, just this afternoon, "Helpless". That seems appropriate to this poem as well.
