...just go ask a butterfly

...just go ask a butterfly

A Poem by Frieda P
"

_it takes courage to fly_

"

Life is merely as an elusive butterfly

 transforming from enclosed cocoons

to magnificent creature in mere breaths,

beauty hence transformation of utter charms

understated in its timely grace

Change is inevitable,  a necessary  foible

there'd be naught transformation, no evolution

life changing cycles sustain our humanity

fighting this phenomenon proves futile at best,

flight's expansion a means of transfiguration

'

If  kindly flutterby's would share their music's mystery,

how nectar'd  it is to merge from obscurity,    yet they

hold their wing'd poetic secrets of freedom close at heart

one can only learn from their unseen license to flourish

just go ask a butterfly....

I think we are all butterflies, you know that your title pulled me in as soon as I saw it and thank goodness I came in to read this, your poetry gives me much hope and many smiles, smiles are needed at this point in time and I can always rely on you... Mama F, you've done an amazing job.

This poem just spoke to me, loudly I may add and my goodness, the message is out standing. You, my gorgeous mother, are a gorgeous butterfly and your wings will carry you anywhere you wanna. I have a one way ticket to Belize, you in?? :-)

Stunning, flip flops & that jazz! xoxo

I have an love for butterflies and anyone who's ever known me could tell you that without a doubt, but the way you penned this was remarkable. You pointed out the most beautiful aspects of courage (flight) and life itself in one of the most beautiful metaphors I will ever know (probably being biased here, sorry). But really, you did an amazing job capturing the essence of this piece. I love how much hope was in this piece.

Fantastic job.

Wow - now I want to spend a day just watching butterflies and learning their lessons. Metaphoric brilliance, Frieda.

One of my favorite quotes is: "if there was no change, there would be no butterflies." Your words reminded me of it.

Beautiful poem Frieda, and very true. :)

A positive look at the inevitable ups and downs and changes in life. A nice one, we don't often express this when we feel it -- now, I think flutterby's should be flutterbies or flutterbyes as it is currently presented, as it doesn't seem to be possessive.

It's a pleasure to read your work, Frieda. You are always transforming as an artist much like a beautiful butterfly :)

Oh Frieda, when I saw the title of your poem, a special part of me, wanted to jump up and start singing, for pure joy. You see, the butterfly is, one of the symbols, which the transcommunity has adopted, as it's own. As we transition, through life, to reach our ultimate gender. As my avatar reflects this.

Thank you, for writing an embracing and supportive poem, for all of us, to read and think about, the message, presented before us.
