forged in flames of adversity's sword, whispering ink leaking upon blotted sins obscure as an eclipse's darkly allure rhapsodic rubbish of an untimely rhyme,
golden shimmer threads woven intricately in a noose of slip knot's scarlet ribbons behest bequests through portals of complicity machinations of another time and place laced within roots of strangling tendrils mutated pretty posies succumb to ancient stories dancing round the fire of life's indignities drowning of impertinence in molten ash
streaming soot of directive flow's utterances
cannot deny the existence of hell's vortex
as the gravitas and bombastic preponderance
in this perpetual travesty unfurls
its utterances in my pretentious voice's hush
hardly matching those in my preposterous head,
yet truth rings clear as a bell's death toll
verses etched as silken decoys unfolded in titanium's recoil
hiding in the recesses of silent protocol's evasive gibberish
grousing under a tidal wave of crushed soul's imperfections
breached indignity of transgression's metaphors
rewarded by awkward stares of disbelief and disgust
personification well versed in the clamoring of history's chapters
dog eared and closed the tale in finality's avoidance,
forbore the stealthy decay in corruption of one's eyes
hiding rather in the sorted shadows than turn the page,
face the nakedness of music's symbolic reality
damage done can't be erased from old dusty passages,
yet, I still leave a light on for courage of a divine moon's charm
Frieda, this has me tongue tied, it poetry to the nth degree and there is too much to say, so many thought to express and all would make make the poem less profound in its contemplations of what a life is all about... "turn the page", "on the road again"..
I wrote a poem called "Turn the Page" a few years ago and will post it as a sort of reply , or better yet a continuing conversation around this theme...
But let me just say that I love this poem Frieda, its why you are a very special woman and poet ... it touches my heart deeply..

The mood of the poem reminds me of the day I stopped in the garden to watch the young shoots of a daisy ... just then ... rising above ground level. As if in response to my bewilderment ... my eyes moved over the dew still on the plant and the rays of the morning sun shining on its leaves. I realized then that it more than just me. A marvelous poem about life's renewal.
getting ready for bed forgot i told you i would stop over for this one tonight .Love the music .You know this is very abstract. And while i dont always understand abstraction I sure liked this I still leave a light on for courage of a divine moon's charm to shine brilliantly through the dim cracks
I'm sorry that it took me so long to review this one love, I feel like a let you down a bit now...it was crazy yesterday though, I was busy literally all day, then once I finally got to sit down and read it I got, well, sidetracked again, then wound up not getting any reading done...but you know this piece means a great deal to me, and the song adds another emotional element to it as well...
It is slowly but surely sinking in...I'm jumping back and forth between this review and the poem for additional readings, and I'm increasingly astounded by the scope of this piece, and moved...in fact, I think I'm welling up...I'm not just saying that in an attempt to give an over-the-top assessment to make up for not responding sooner, I'm speaking the truth...I don't know why but I have this image of two poets huddling under the rain, seeking shelter from pragmatists who want neat and rational assessments, and will either badger the poet incessantly till they get them, or look down on them and consider them unworthy of their respect...
But the pen truly is mightier than adversity's sword, especially when it's in your hand :) 'yet truth rings clear as a bell's death toll'...this poem is full of amazing ironic nuggets and oxymorons, almost every line has one...bells makes such beautiful sounds, and death makes no sounds at all...'whispering ink leaking upon blotted sins'...yes, the whirr of the ink sliding across the page often belies the fact that we're screaming inside...I need more time with this piece...I have to run right now, but this will be simmering for a while...you've done is again Mrs.R, I can say little more right now...I'm just trying to dry my face now before my mother comes back downstairs ;) xo
If you want to know me, read my poetry, it's all in there. I am a mother of three sons (my finest moments) a sister, a survivor and a little bit crazy. I lost my beloved sister to suicide, so you'll.. more..
