Gypsy Antidote ~

Gypsy Antidote ~

A Poem by Frieda P
"

_fire burns as an exhale_ élan vital is the vital force or impulse of life

"

There's a gypsy that taunts me,
     haunts me to awakening revival,
   wandering & aimless in stillness
     heart of crystalline titanium
   spirited garden of lofty lavender,
uneasy dreams, condors and butterflies
fly amidst poisons within imploding star,
   breasts heave heavily and dream
in this fire that burns as an exhale
translucent cobalt blue in its scope,
far off lands like cotton candy embers
heard the heat of drums & magical flutes
     photosynthesis of atomic rainbows
        whirling mazes loom overhead
      snowflakes burst to flames,
          restless doves coo urgency
  seasons scheme to proselyte
     foreigners in hasty slow motion,
authentic sighs took a long naked drag,
reluctantly see me as a stranger
      the soul nods, subtly concurs,
          thoughts overcame this paradox
                 pressed to strip toxic exposure,
desert rose lit upon a dark moon's
             intoxicating perfume'd desire
gleaned the essence as an unveiling
in the bared fervor of  élan vital

Great song first of all ;)

Ah, cotton candy embers, snowflakes bursting to flames...heaving breasts...you know I love that stuff Mrs.R :) This is such a vivid and vibrant piece, colourful, imaginative, and full of emotion, doled out in equal measures of rawness and subtlety...the whole thing is one long naked drag...this is definitely a favourite...like I said, it's just so deep and evocative...the whole thing has a kaleidoscopic feel to it...anyways I won't go on too much more cuz I want to get this review in quick...I'm still reveling in this one though.....again, this is definitely one of your more vibrant pieces, just full of life and dancing and good things...love it :) xo

"spirited garden of lofty lavender" floating butterflies and a gypsy named Frieda dancing with unfettered freedom in "elan vital"... beautiful Frieda, I think you always danced best in "cobalt blue" with "cooing doves"... I think I will sigh now...

Wow...Whimsical beautey comes to mind. This is definitely a new favorite of mine. Atomic rainbows! Every line paints an incredible picture. The images created by each line come to life so wonderfully. I will read this one many times. thanks

Femininity expressed in such eloquent lines of emotion!

And would this taunting gypsy perhaps be dancing along inside of you dear? I feel like part of your soul longs to wander, like the gypsies do, and that is what makes your poetry so ethereal, you wander in spirit.

foreigners in hasty slow motion,

Loved the paradox in this line. Hasty slow motion sounds like it would be fun to watch.

My grandmother used to threaten me with giving me to the gypsies when I misbehaved. Then I saw the original The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and got the hots for the gypsy woman, Esmerelda, and decided that maybe gypsies would be OK : )
" intoxicating perfume'd desire" indeed! (Note you need to drop the "e" to use the ' there, don"t you?)
Well written, you gypsy savage!

OMG I am like 95% gypsy, 1% monkey and 4% half human, half mermaid. I love how gypsies have so much freedom, it fascinates me. This is superb! You held my attention from start I finish. A gorgeous, gorgeous poem. xoxo
