Coffee & poetry ~

Coffee & poetry ~

A Poem by Frieda P

Aroused by the wafting aroma of coffee,
    & the tête-à-tête
of poetry's hummingbird lyrics,
           unfolding like symphony's origami
persuasive satisfaction of my heart's intention
creativity's desire surging as each word prances
across the pages of interchangeable divine thoughts
symbiotic splendor whirls in meditative sentiments
          within entity's contemplative dreaming tumult,
an iambic foot of rhythm's hypnotic control
     wandering in poesy's contentment
     satisfying the restless gypsy's urges,
sweet inspiration's prolific rhyme unfurling
in the synergistic dance of collective harmony

Coffee and poetry. My two favorite things. Amazing description my friend.
"an iambic foot of rhythm's hypnotic control
wandering in poesy's contentment
satisfying the restless gypsy's urges,"
Nice to know the feeling the contentment of pen and paper with the good taste of coffee near. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

You had me at coffee! Nicely written, as usual.

That feeling of contentment, of carving out space in the universe of human existence… there's nothing like a good cup of coffee and hour's respite to create. Your poem captures that sensation perfectly.

Actually, I stopped drinking coffee but your poem made me want to drink a cup. What a beautiful poem, my favorite line.. " unfolding like symphony's origami". Thanks for sharing. :)

Yup the caffine rush and the words that spill from our 'pens'. Nice descriptive verse as always my Lady.

" symbiotic splendor" indeed, that is what a poetry site is all about. We read a line and think, "damn, wish I would have thought of that" or "Yes, yes, I understand!" We drink in the words along with our caffeine....and the day starts off just right. Great write, Frieda. That second graphic was my icon for years....love it! Lydi**
