Sun's dim betrayal...

Sun's dim betrayal...

A Poem by Frieda P
"

_placating shadows_

"
Rushing towards
         placating shadows,
resolved in empty
               hushes' recessed corners
strangling in translation,
light shatters
                        prism's safety
   blindly perplexed
             in shade's hazy view,
frozen memories
          thawed to embers
  digging in the ash
                to remember,
how the gleam led
                to such dark detours
   when windows of reason
       abruptly closed
moments of sanity seem to
             trickle down,
dancing faster
               to catch up with dawn,
closed my eyes in shallow
        depth's recall,
  asylum harbors
           taunting deceptions
   setting fire to denial's
                   flared up insides,
                blistering under a sun's
                              dim betrayal

first let me say, what an awesome damn song.. I haven't ever heard it before.. oh wow... I love it... get lost in the beat, then she starts singing and holy hell.. ooooh yes...

ok, on to your writing... girl... you took me on a downward spiral, that seduced me lower and lower... shadows seducing me from the darkness.. cooling contrasts from the sweltering heat... beckoning me to quench what my soul desires... too bad once I give in, I see the betrayal... but what a ride...

What a web of words you can weave, pulling the reader in deeper and deeper. Sometimes I have to read a few times to get some semblance of sense as the short lines break up my thinking. Well woven again, spider woman.

Amazing singer and your words...well they resonate with me. Without light there would be no shadows...but sometimes its that very light that hurts us the most. Shadows can comfort..we can hide our innermost pain in then. We may even feel our safest there. Under the sun we are fully exposed and vulnerable. x

I love it! You have presented it so well. My favourite lines would be:
"digging in the ash
                to remember,
how the gleam led
                to such dark detours"
In my library!

Thanks again Moon, muchly appreciated!
you are the Mistress of "run on" and contradiction .. each and every word you choose deliberately .. at least thats the feel i get .. i have never been able to read your poetry just once .. it demands my attention .. and open mind ... this one is no exception ... you just get better at it ;)
we want .. no we need the healing .. only to be denied .. and the sifting .. the endless sifting past fires for answers ... only finding the same pain and anguish .. what a beautiful, beautiful sadness :(

friskier still on Freiday ... ;)
Only you can make dark and angry sound so beautiful.
Sometimes, I think we should just swear off men.
But then, we do kind of need them and they're not ALL bad.

What a luverly thing to say on both counts Ana Sophia. :)
This has such a dark feel to it my Lady. Disappointment, sadness and angst flows in shallow, folorn bitterness across this page.
