drank the poetic kool-aid

drank the poetic kool-aid

A Poem by Frieda P
"

_random silly scribble_

"
Drank from the poetic kool-aid well
punch drunk crazy on 100 proof metaphors
cheesy cracker sonnets & olive stuffed similes
jumped over a moon's haiku, hungover of verbiage
strange clouds bump and grind pouring fireflies
   bathed in coffee's senryuous brevity
dirty birds yakking in your head,
jealous guy lost control in burnt out tunes,
muse madness in words addictive rhythms
like jackrabbits getting it on big time,
rocking socks off dancin' on chandeliers,
   sign'd on the dott'd line for apostrophe's rhym'd rehab
there ain't no cure for what ails the obsess'd poet

I drank from your poem the proof metaphors and stuffed similes :) hell yes! You have a charming disease no need of any cure .. i then went into this journey of fireflies and surrender.. !! You are truly madly obssessed.!! For your own good chica ,for us too. Cause we get to read these lovely poems... well written. This write was wholly you. Portraying all your sides. You know yourself well enough.

I'm not sure there's beauty in this one, but thanks muchly...
I needed something that would cheer me up today (due to the date as you know) and the first place I came was here. Your poetry honestly is my little safe haven. On saying that, I did crack a smile and I think I made a sound that would resemble a giggle... :) I couldn't even pick out a favourite line because it was all hilarious and oh so very funny.

This poem is amusing gravitas. Poets have a moderating influence on World Affairs since poets are not afraid to break all those stifling taboos established by the uncompromising assumptions of arrogant egomaniacs. No concept is a perfect concept, but when one is taken too seriously, then it always becomes a cause of bad side effects, and collateral damage. Each ant is only aware of one part of the Elephant-of-Reality.. The poetic ant never assumes that his or anyone else’s perceived part of reality represents the whole. Poets use creative metaphors in their attempt to connect all the fragmentary dots of the pieces of reality that they are aware of into gestalts that may or may not evoke an image of the entire elephant.

Wow a sense of weary cynicism pervades in the exact metaphors with high alcohol content you cite, moonshine metaphors my Lady, moonshine!

This is a clever spot of mad scribbling, I must say. I read it earlier but was stuck in cafe' glitch land.

The gremlins are running rampant on the cafe tonight it seems, thank KL.
Well, as usual, you lead me astray with the 'random scribble' tag...it's still absolute genius, no matter how tongue-in-cheek you think it is...and to reel it off as quick as you can, and fit in as many references to as many people as you did...it's really amazing you know...have you ever seen me do something like this? And if I did, it wouldn't come in a night...you'll never believe me I guess, cuz you just say that I gush over all of your stuff cuz it's you, but 'you' deserve to be gushed over! Anyways, you'll be happy to know that I enjoyed the imagery very much, and I found myself smiling a lot as I read it...as you know, my library doesn't work, so I can't shelve it, but you know it'll be in my bookmarks and will go to my 'real' folder soon...and just to prove that I didn't forget: 100 100-proof metaphors ;) xo
