Heart's innocence amidst fireflies...‏

Heart's innocence amidst fireflies...‏

A Poem by Frieda P
"

~a feel good scribble for Benji so he'll smile :)

"
We pranced amidst fireflies
the world our pearl of an oyster,
reminiscing our contentment
of days gone past in a blink
still, we danced
    to our heart's innocence
that youthful joy still flashing like
   effervescent stars
upon a night without yesterday's
        dark ambiguities,
lit by moonbeams in our
        philosophical eye's recollections

Frieda...my dearest friend, I read this with one hand over my mouth and tears sliding all the way down my face until they met my fingers...but there was a smile behind that hand...I listened to the song as I read it, then i read it again in silence...I'm still trying to catch my breath...so often I feel like I'm talking at you more than I'm talking to you...the words you send my way are far outnumbered by the ones I send you, yet they carry more support and kindness than all of the combined words I send your way...so often this feels like a one-way friendship, one giving, the other taking...I don't know if I can or should go on in this forum...it's easy to see why you are so loved and adored here...your heart is of the purest gold...simply saying 'thank you' almost sounds hollow to me...I have no words, I can only tell you that I'm smiling...still we danced to our heart's innocence...and still you had to lead ;) xoxo

I am sure this did make him smile. You are very sweet chica and your lines makes one feel to dance and prance and be happy amidst the fireflies as happiness engulfs you.Loved this chica ;-)

Reveling in the whimsical place made from the memories shared with another person, with the other person. What a vibrant sense of gladness, well done!

This really is a feel good piece, Frieda - just what I needed. Dancing to our heart's innocence... I really like this idea...

Thanks Rita, I bet you were shocked eh? :)
Steveroo needs a good smile, he's a great man with a big heart and lots of love for his friends. His poetry needs to be noticed more because man, he one talented dude. Half the time I read him I am jealous of how wordy and precise he is. he's a wee gem, that's for sure. x

Mission accomplished for Steve, so kudos to you Sweet Frieda!! Yes, he's singing and dancing and for that we are thankful!! Oh, to capture that youthful era of times when we chased fireflies and held them with awe in our hands of childhood! I love the video too - it makes me want to dance too!! You've done good Joisey gal!!!

There is a lighthearted side to this, but there is also a melancholy bell tolling between the lines. Not sure which is stronger, but I know I had a good feeling reading these words, Frieda. Lydi**
