Fire in the belly of mankind's heart ~

Fire in the belly of mankind's heart ~

A Poem by Frieda P

Can you hear fires roaring,
       lost in blood eye's
            translation
of survival,
misted mountains mourn
        in smoky denial's regret,
city's a'flame on back burners
              of concrete tears,
rivers bubble over
             of hollow souls
skies crashing upon
              lonely towns screaming,
trees merely cast shadows
          upon the ground
without the fiery fight
             in the belly of man,
we burn together
         if not for fellowship
in the interest
       of humankind's heart,
communion with
          brothers and sisters
capture the heat
           within our souls,
and let us spew forth

      in unity's cry

I can sense all that you have put into this piece and I must say, it really blends well with the feeling of the world turning and turning in the wrong way while you partake in unity with others who feel the same passion brewing within them to somehow change something, anything. Well done.

Beautiful poem.. many thoughts of your life are flown within the chapter of "fire" giving them a direction to blow with the cold winds of love. Great job! ;)

I never thought of that, perhaps because I'm a fire sign...thanks Wordsmith. :)
I am forced to believe in the Biblical story that the most disastrous thing which a man did was to eat that apple of wisdom. Which was nothing but a long and disastrous way of destruction to the mankind.
Else I would have been in the old garden taking tuition from you for very obvious things :)

If we could ever all agree, come together for a common goal we could do wonders. But, always it seems some have this need to do only what benifits them and the just destroys the outcome. Very thought creating Frieda P. I really enjoyed this today.

Thanks so much Troy, glad you 'felt' this one!
Oh man, this is what I call 'good poetry!' Everything about this poem is really superb. I haven't read much of you but what I have read has been very powerful and you get the power & message across each time. You have skill for getting into the nitty gritty of the poem... Absolutely fantastic Frieda.

Indeed they're a big part of the problem....
This is a layered, deep emotional journey you have taken me on... The title through me off.. but after I have read this several times, it makes perfect sense... That "fiery fight" doesn't get lost in the translation at all.. It glows brightly and burns with the need for survival and to connect with others in this struggle... The aftermath of pain, regret, suffering, confusion, loneliness, and fear is powerful and urges the resilience and motivation to continue on with determination.. It speaks volumes with intense emotion that doesn't smack you over the head, it just pulls you down with such force that you can do nothing but feel.. There is such hope and a genuine love for others in sharing that healing and warrior's cry at the end that you are left feeling empowered, connected, and ready to face the world head on... Amazing as always, girl.. I am always blown away by the emotion in which you write and make me feel... you are awesome... ((hugs))
