Black magic extraordinaire...

Black magic extraordinaire...

A Poem by Frieda P
"

COLLABORATION KUBLAKHAN & FRIEDA

"
we converse helter skelter
in your soft killer approach,
teetering on wooden innuendo's third wheel
white satin nights turned black magic dust
fever is distracting and unchained
like rainfall on the frying pan sand
foundations of celluloid Shangri-la
superseded over hills and far away
where your romance ransacks education
in a heist of Merlin's stash of love potion
old man shooed from monotone incantations
shipped to a jenga tower of tobacco song
something in my moves attracted nothing
in the smoke ring of your seduction vacuum

now the trouble with nothing is something
convoluted metaphors of destiny
paralyzed in your concocted rhyme
enchanted in sorcerer's scented sage
nestled in your judgement's serenade
rushing through heady spirited senses
quintessentially rendered of illusory inflection
modulating at time warp speed's redemption
difference apparent in reflection's fiction
processing a paradigm of connoisseur's legends
slipped from sleight of hand's stacked holy book
interpretations beat the clock at half past tock
while the ticker-tape parade ceases and concedes
pecking order to Rhiannon's sentencing caravan
brittle femurs burst into balloons of blisters
on the sizzle of the paved grave site
of paradise lost and lamented too late
felicity's hymn flutters in a warped reel
left to sweat rhythms in the red-eyed sun machine

take off your sinful scared skin exposing the scar
abandon mystery's magic tour of your throne
shadows take on a brilliant hue when liberated

Well, I can't always tell where one metaphor leaves off and another begins, but it is brilliant! I am in awe of such exquisite lines as:

'where your romance ransacks education
in a heist of Merlin's stash of love potion
old man shooed from monotone incantations
shipped to a Jenga tower of tobacco song.'

I see altogether in a single room of my mind, scattered blocks, broken beakers, and the Marlboro Man strumming a ditty in the corner. Amazing! Did you collaborate one line at a time? It flows seamlessly, however you managed it. Superlative worthy effort. Excellent work, both of you!

Half past tock Benji! :) xo
well didn't this one take me on different twists and turns and conflicting imagery and emotions.. jeez I felt I was in a labyrinth with something new and exciting jumping from every corner and hidden passage... It felt so mysterious, dark, delicious in the beginning, then quickly turned into more evil, twisted, maliciousness towards the end.. It definitely had my heart fluttering "helter skelter" and my mind racing to keep up...

there are a few lines in here that I absolutely loved..
"convoluted metaphors of destiny
paralyzed in your concocted rhyme"...... you knew I would love those lines though...

and the last line... love it.. "shadows take on a brilliant hue when liberated".... how true is that..

my favorite collab yet of ya'lls ... awesome!!!

Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed our collaboration!
Brilliantly intertwined series of metaphors that leave my thoughts in flusters while I attempt to decipher its meaning; so very many references indeed! My personal favorites have to be the mention of Shangri-La and Rhiannon, with the addition of connoisseurs to further describe what I presume to be a relationship. Shangri-La and its majestic wonders, possibly only in fantasy, so I had immediately been sent on my toes with the feeling that the relationship would either akin to a trap utilizing something pleasurable as a lure, possibly even with an adventure purely based on fantasy. Fantasy or not, it truly is an adventure set aside only for those willing to take extraordinary risks. The mentioning of Rhiannon had thrown me off into a separate direction, however.

Drawing parallels between the tale of Rhiannon I see that your speaker seems to have gotten involved along with a third-party that had seemed to ruin everything. Likewise, the "balloons of blisters'' are your speaker's romanticized fantasies, looking forward to the reward and willing to bear through the pain of watching as the parades turned on them due to the belief that better is approaching, one day or the other, much like Rhiannon had been framed by her maids with a slaughtered puppy's blood, doomed to live through her punishments until her son's return (the reward).

Brilliant and well-written!

Powerful words and pictures. Song choice title says it all, "Extraordinary" And I saw what you did there with that "half past tock while the ticker-tape" thing!
A great collaboration.
