I told myself I would not read another until morning...yet here I am visiting your lines of verse...just to let you know I'm reading...just all over the place at the moment here at WC...this opens quite well..and the quote by W.S. in the ending puts more an in-depth feel within this read...may I ask what motivated this one...or not...font is readable and there presents much ownership in this one:
I would say reflects the piece itself...and the mindset of this one...good night...

I felt liberated while reading this. The song you chose played as I read and it's a song I know well which made it all more real. And, after reading your motivation for writing it made every word ever more so meaningful :)

The music does have a meditative feel to it, thanks again Liz... :)
And in your "return to innocence" Frieda; in your "challenging life's adversities": and resistance to fold in conformity" you are "fierce as the roaring seas" and then some... I appreciate this poem Frieda and with the music from Enigma and its Native theme, not only are you pointing the direction to be yourself, true!! One of my favorite ideas from Native American mythology and belief, is that "You are known by the track you leave" You are known by your deeds.. the deeds you leave for us to know you is truly found in the poetry you weave... your poem encourages all of us to be "fierce as the roaring seas". Love this poem and you Frieda... it's amazing.. ;0)

Soul-searching in itself is a defiant act, as is the declaration of refusal to conform to assumed outside standards...I've used this quote before, but our favourite poet once pointed out that there's a certain arrogance in trying to put the universe in order...I don't believe he was referring to one's own universe though, for that's where all peace is born...I admire the philosophy you put forward here, especially in light of the fact that I am still trying to conjure up the courage to attain it in myself...I can't recall ever writing a poem of this magnitude, which is telling...I regularly ask myself if I've truly been true to my own self, spending so much time gawking at the principles of everybody else...maybe I just don't work hard enough at challenging life's adversities...this is a poem that sends the reader to the proverbial mirror for self-assessment...or maybe you've already held the mirror up to us in these words and sentiments...however you slice it, these words are inspiring and encouraging...to know you is to know that your courage is authentic, and if you can battle through what you've battled through, surely anyone can find that tranquility of nature, even in the fiercest seas...I come away from all your poems feeling something I wasn't feeling before, and I come away from this one feeling enlightened...I hope I can divine a mission statement for myself from these words Mrs.R :) xo

It's always a pleasure love, and I still save a lot of your responses, and always will :)
I have decided I will call my Cafe experience today as the Frieda effect. Three writings on the trot every single one different every single one a "bomb-track". And in here one of my favorite things delving into the abyss of the unknown with nothing but inspiration, imagination and intuition as wisdom. The firts two lines brings you right to the centre and makes it concious and the rest to come is nothing but nature's beauty of will and the interdependence with us.
If read a few times it starts to take a quasi- medidtative tone.
Thankyou Frieda this one is heading to my library.

Okay that made me laugh Rene, thanks so much, thrilled you enjoyed this one.
I like how you began and ended with "self".... That is where the strength is... the knowledge... the power... no one can take that from you... we give that power away too easily and forget this... I am guilty of this, I admit... We have to respect ourselves and demand that others do the same.. To bask in the glory and beauty that is within ourselves... what nature intended us to be.. to nurture that potential and allow our bright light to illuminate the world in the unique way that we were made to... I have to say, this is one song that I do listen to a lot... brilliant addition as always ma'am... love the quote, the picture, the font, and the color--all adds so much more depth and color to the overall tone and emotion.. This flows like a cool spring breeze tickling the heart and refreshing the soul.. freaking amazing as usual.. love it..

If you want to know me, read my poetry, it's all in there. I am a mother of three sons (my finest moments) a sister, a survivor and a little bit crazy. I lost my beloved sister to suicide, so you'll.. more..
