Petri Potpourri

A Poem by Frieda P
"

COLLABORATION Einstein Noodle & Frieda

"
passing the collection plate
gaping hunger boundless
in its demand

feeds itself

wormed its way underground
  found the road to misery,
took a left turn to go right

fighting a delusion's battle

white robed priests
sterile in all approaches
gingerly touching

touching

 genuflections in reflections
   of disgrace's unholy water
     assaulted in pardon's vaults

recanting violations

rainbow colors spread fingers
piled rods like yarrow stalks
raging infection

infection

Fornicating in acidic hot springs
     putrefying growth
        recycling waste's atmosphere

spreading disease

Talk about surrealistic! This is a magical mystery tour bringing me back to the 60's and 70's! Noodle and Frieda, you certainly have outdone yourselves with fabulous imagery here. I loved "took a left turn to go right!" Sort of Alice in Wonderlandish! Great collaboration. Lydi**

Wait, this is about bacteria? haha ;}
I must say I was not ready for the cynicism factor in this piece...for whatever reason, I wasn't expecting a theme of this sort from an E/F collab, not that it isn't a more-than-welcome theme for me...this is me after all haha ;P I love the structure, a poem within a poem, not an easy form to pull off, but anything is possible when these two talents come together...I feel like I've spent my entire life taking left turns and somehow finding myself going east...tough to single out any particular parts in this one, when every stanza carries at least one striking image...I was gripped by the unholy water/acidic hot springs parallel though...congrats to you both on a powerful and hard-hitting collab :)

You're most welcome guys...
This is brilliant. There is so much I love about this, despite its putrid subject matter. First off, me and my germophobia meet the background of bacteriology and clash it with this vile subject, makes for an effective message for me. In the faves.

Wow.. ain't this powerful, raw, and thought-provoking.. The imagery here really drives the point home and the music adds a nice touch.. Such an apt and clever title as well.. I have to say, this is an awesome collab, great job you two... The last stanza hit home with an intense BANG.. jeez.. such in-your-face-illumination of blunt truth with this piece... I love it...

I am just sold this is the second collaboration and I think I told you already but I am at the stage of miniskirt, fake b***s and pom poms I have yet to develop a little song to go with my outfit,. That aside what got all my attention from the start it that extra line hanging in there something that I am adept to use to as it is used in my case as a landing point of reflection and It worked just like that here. The other thing that had me going and may right may be off the mark is the issue of decomposition and proliferation that like it or it as we are organic matter we are bounded by decay . But overall I did take my time to go and read many of your individual quests and the collaboration is a loveley meeting of sorts not a power struggle which has created something new and fresh.

Thankyou both
