I lay my head upon my feathery pillow,

my last thoughts are of your eyes

gazing so bright to life's enchantments

you light up the mundane,

turn every day into poetry,

as I close mine to the night,

they shine in hopes

of sweet dreams ~

And a sweet lullaby it is Mrs.R...I've always loved that song...it inspires memories of someone for me as well, and the thoughts I often carry to bed in the hopes of sleeping and not having to wait hours seemingly for it to happen...a lovely, lilting little ode you've offered up here my dear friend :) x

my wife died in 1989 .. my children (2 boys 2 girls were quite young) i sang this song to them each .. one at a time...at bedtime ... my younger daughter would cringe and say .. " no daddy don't sing the good night song! " it made me smile and i sang it anyway .. its felt good to have that bit of control .. if only singing! :))) love to you Freida
