Darkly burnt parchment ~

Darkly burnt parchment ~

A Poem by Frieda P

darkly burnt parchment
as forlorn ashes float to abandoned ether
piercing the skies in mass hysteria's delusions
        simplicity scorched within your persuasion
brainwashed heart yearning's written on the walls
seduction's illusion was the grand scheme
blinded by the light of braille's cardboard words
spaces 'tween lies & sanctimonious allusion

Ahh, gotta love getting lost in sanctimonious allusion -- you have this way of cleansing emotions through the use clever vocabulary strung together, that taken separately, each part is innocuous, but taken as a whole oozes powerful feelings. Now, as to the sappy song ...:)

Oh, you like the sap, and I love you in spite of it, or maybe because of it ...

You know I had to read this five times to garner the truest appreciation of portrait you have painted with your stunning dialect. "...ashes float to abandoned ether", the state of severance of the mind from the body likened to floating pieces of burning paper and then the line, "blinded by the light of braille's cardboard words", that someone who reads braille is blinded by light.... AMAZING!

Thanks for your kind words Tempest, jazz'd you enjoyed!
ok, first let me say--I have heard this song and it is one I love.. It fits this piece beautifully as only you can do... Secondly let me tell you how much I LOVE THIS.... oh how we can get brainwashed by seduction's illusion.. It can be so bright, so mesmerizing, so tempting and overwhelming, it scorches, blinding us... You write so beautifully ma'am... You never cease to amaze me with your eloquent, powerful use of language, emotion, and passion...

I like a little "sap" every now and then... admittedly not very often--but sometimes it is nice:)
Frieda my dear, you've done it again! You've painted an indelible picture with your words, lovely and bittersweet... "deve ter sido amor" You've been there--burnt that parchment. How, otherwise, could you conjure the image of a love's ashes wafting into the night. Simply beautiful!
