~ endless breath of silence

~ endless breath of silence

A Poem by Frieda P

A moment in bittersweet crystal clarity

memories of glory days gone by

         familiarity of scent and touch

indulgences of passionate nectar'd skies,

wildflower meadows and body quiver sighs

translucent reminisces of love's twists & tangles

sacred promises torn awry in duplicity's grasp

under a darkly full moon's daunting disclosure

rendered in sounds of hopeless tear soaked passages

forgotten love notes written of inky illusions

neatly wrapped in tissue paper delusions

stormy weather's threats upon spirit's token of mourning

a final endless breath of silence as it's put to rest ~

death's conclusion does not become the tender heart

Death does not become the tender heart; a profound and heartfelt ending to the nostalgia that had built up previous to that line's deliverance that seems to reassure everyone that we do not become death when we die . . . Our actions, memories, experiences will always be shared amongst those who had shared them with us, and we become our moments instead of just death.

Lovely ending, it was truly thought-provoking.

When you read something and you just pause whatever is happening, you take some time out and think, just think. This is what I did after reading your poem.
I think of everything that passed me by and everything that affected me and how it's all going to fade ,at last. Death. It's simply haunting, what you wrote!
and GOSH "forgotten love notes written of inky illusions" I mean can it be expressed in a better way?? NO !
Much love and thank you for posting this xx

You are a paradox, Frieda. You give us fluffy, funny works and then suddenly compose something of such wonder and beauty. This is indeed lovely and you should be proud of it.

Thanks Freida.. :)
It is crystal clear that tender hearts are very affectionate and passionate even to the point of death of a beloved. Hold on forever in your wonderful poetry. Excellent...:)...........

Losing someone we love is never easy. I was told once that time heals all pain...but there is pain that runs too deep to completely heal. You have left me teary eyed Frieda....

Mornin' Frieda...

For half a second, with the font, the picture, and the video image, I felt like I had suddenly turned on a Saturday Night Live skit rerun. Then I read the first half--sweet sigh--who needs TV with such lovely images; Reading on--channel change--there's Dr. House, leaning on that cane, just daring me to be happy.

Kidding aside, it's true; there's always and end of innocence, love, and life. Luckily there's a lot of Hell to raise in between. Are you with me?

Yes, you noticed, I wasn't feeling that last tune....thanks again my friend!
Losing someone is the hardest thing in the world. This poem was so beautiful, so expressive.
And so painful to read. You captured the feeling so well.

Thanks so much for your kind thoughts Ance.
This poem is quite sad. Death is a conclusion but as long as memories exist, that door is never completely closed. This poem makes me think about who I have and who I lost and how I might want to rethink how I treat those that I have. I enjoyed reading this today.
