~ endless breath of silence

~ endless breath of silence

A Poem by Frieda P

A moment in bittersweet crystal clarity

memories of glory days gone by

         familiarity of scent and touch

indulgences of passionate nectar'd skies,

wildflower meadows and body quiver sighs

translucent reminisces of love's twists & tangles

sacred promises torn awry in duplicity's grasp

under a darkly full moon's daunting disclosure

rendered in sounds of hopeless tear soaked passages

forgotten love notes written of inky illusions

neatly wrapped in tissue paper delusions

stormy weather's threats upon spirit's token of mourning

a final endless breath of silence as it's put to rest ~

death's conclusion does not become the tender heart

Death does not become the tender heart; a profound and heartfelt ending to the nostalgia that had built up previous to that line's deliverance that seems to reassure everyone that we do not become death when we die . . . Our actions, memories, experiences will always be shared amongst those who had shared them with us, and we become our moments instead of just death.

Lovely ending, it was truly thought-provoking.

What a touching thing to say, thanks again...
A touching and refined piece, each image guiding the reader into the inevitable... Especially love these lines:

forgotten love notes written of inky illusions
neatly wrapped in tissue paper delusions

Hey if you're still doing it, there has to be a reason....
" forgotten love notes written of inky illusions

Your write is very imagery as well as realistic.
Death is an ultimate truth that we all have to accept.

Thanks so much Ayushi.
We have got to accept death, but it is our choice to let go of the memories or not. A very powerful write, ma'am. :D

Grazie mille :)
A sad and tender piece, with beautiful word usage and imagery -- not sure which line I like best, but tissue paper delusions is certainly up there.

Not all memories are sweet. Yet there are still worth their place in our minds.
