Reigning mad dogs...

Reigning mad dogs...

A Poem by Frieda P
"

"
...and the skies opened
to an enormous clap of discrimination
pouring distinct praises on the chosen,
individual merit floated in dark gutters
bolts of bigotry and hailing hatred
injustice teemed in inequity's intolerant lightning
           indifference got a standing ovation
ravaging conformity's tempestuous upheaval
         dawn's bias threshold took cover...

~ the day howling mad dogs reigned

You still manage to surprise me after all this time Mrs.R, not because of the subject matter cuz you've already proven you can tackle any topic, but the ways you get your messages across is truly something to behold. Distinct praises on the chosen, and the chosen only...it is unsettling to wonder who does the choosing, and what if it's society itself? Indifference's standing ovation underscores that feeling of unease all the more. This piece reminded me of the Dogs Of War by Floyd...prejudice and war are not unlike each other in my mind. You never fail to leave me feeling enlightened in the wake of a new poem...brilliant :) xo

People envy you, cause they can't be like you. They thoughtlessly criticise you. They don't want you to improve but they do it to prove you they are right.... very sensitive topic.Loved the seventh line.Nicely written as usual Freida.Barking dogs seldom bite,so i am safe from rabies ★laughter★

Grazie mille A...
All are born equal and all fall short of glorious perfection, so your edifying words ring true Frieda, walk tall and proud for we are all special! A magnanimous write, full of worldly wisdom!

' Prego' !
Spectacular Frieda!
What a punch of reality this packs. I wish I knew why the world was as it was.
I blame it on the lies and false promises of the marketers and politicians, sugar coating every detail.
Yet when the candy coating dissolves you're left with a sour freaking gumball in your mouth.
MY standing ovation goes to YOU.

Thanks again Annabelle Lee.
Hot damn, great use of metaphors, a great in your face poem and really for me is a great reflection of what the world is like when controlled by corporate greed.

You are right about that.
I think that it makes no sense to judge others because who gave us that right? Are we better than another person?I think not.We sit in our glass houses and throw stones and are shocked when we realize we are covered with broken glass.Excellent pen for sure chica :)
