I gave you all my love, gave you more than I could give, this Sade song woven into your words and .. and.. "this is no ordinary love, no ordinary reflection" ... and you wonder, will I ever find it again?? Will someone ever kiss and breathe on these thighs, will full moons ever soar in my skies??
I think I have sung this Sade song sinceforever and now there is your poem to accompany it.. you know you have touched me with this poem Frieda... and you have no ordinary romantic heart..

I had to come back to this wonderful poem Frieda. Cause I love it so much, appreciate your romantic touch. And cause I think I missed something important in the interplay between your words, the music and video of the song "No Ordinary Love" by Sade.
I think the first part of the poem speaks to the kind of love that happens rarely ( "gave you all my love.. there's nothing like you and me, baby"),but what makes this love so rare, special and not ordinary is because it is also an impossible love (between mermaid/man, black and white, different cultures, etc) and may not last. It's like a white hot fire that burns intensely, but only for a short time
That you say this was "reverie of scented reminisces", indicates you either had such a love (for this I would consider you special and fortunate) or you are thinking about such a love but not sure it's possible ("they say a love like ours won't last).
I know I would always fight for "no ordinary love", fight for a "love when full moons soared in my skies". Such a love is "no ordinary reflection", one to surrender to. I know I would die a thousand deaths for such a love. Does it hurt when a love like this is lost? Oh fook yes it hurts -it hurts forever! But it is worth it? Is it worth it to have someone use "enticing whispers, scorching shivers up my spine"? ABSOLUTELY!!
So I had to come back and say this. And to say that even in this horrid, extremely ugly world- "no ordinary love" is possible.

What I was thinking was by 'ordinary' was in the way of commonplace and an everyday expression, that perhaps we take for granted when we're in its grasp and don't realize the magnitude of being so lucky until it's gone...

Well, have I mentioned that I often over analyse a poem?? Or mention I often insert my foot in mouth?? Or that these clod hopper boots taste extremely nasty??? All true and while I have missed the point in your poem, I haven't missed the very important fact that you write"no ordinary" poetry Frieda.
So just ignore that red faced man in the corner bitting his boots.. Y U C K !!!

Sometimes it's interesting to see how poeple read the same words but understand them differently. Often I learn more from how people see a poem than how I understood it as I wrote it.
But, don't we also get a kick when what you intended to say is understood by those who read?? I know I do. I don't say this lightly or just to be nice. But Frieda,I would always appreciate it if how I read a poem you wrote is not what you intended and you "left me in on it". I don't mean this to say you should explain your poems to me, but to nudge me like you just did if I go off course. I don't need my hand held nor will you offend, but I do want to understand. I guess like Eve, I want to taste that apple!!! HA ;0)
