Feigned love, a bidding to tears good night, possibly a betrayal in the atmosphere of the piece, courtesy of the other party . . . The shattering reality of everything dawning upon your speaker is breathtaking in the amount of misery that would ensue, and the attitude with which your speaker greets her sorrow is enticing, as she seems to have expected it, somewhat, in some way. Anticipated that the love would be revealed as nothing but a hoax and acting accordingly . . . Lovely poem, Frieda.

Thanks for your in-depth review Tai, you always read me so well...muchly appreciated...
After we've broken sometimes all we need to do is realise we are strong and we don't need the people who are going to hurt us anymore... Dry your tears, Mama F, smile your beautiful smile because you are so special and beautiful.... I loved this one, it touched my heart.
Pure poetry laced with sadness. Each of your poems is an art form.

'none of it was true'
~ last dying thought in the
pretense of love
The height of expression and skill with this short write, Frieda. Indeed, romantic love, without the backing of the spirit, is not but a game we play, and there is no point in crying over a game;) Again, big fan of this piece … it's a classic.

Thanks for such a luverly review Pryde...yep those dang games. ;)
I was substantially moved by this one love...the idea of a spirit being buried was striking and it put me in reflective mode...so many memories came to mind upon reading this, memories that were probably not unlike the ones you seem to be reflecting on here...and the flowers in a chill'd wind...I was taken aback by that image as well for reasons that are hard to explain...you truly bring emotions to life my friend...xo

What an utterly gorgeous review Chris, it's so poetic, thanks sweet friend!
Amazing poetry my friend. Your words took me to good places and thoughts. I like the feel of old-school poetry. Written for the heart and for reason. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Frozen mind in her heart's quiver.. that line has a lasting impression on me. I love the song you always introduce me to some amazing vocalist through your amazing poetry. The icy emotion that blankets this poem is somewhat warm and comforting, it helps heal, it helps recover. Wonderful writing Frieda

If you want to know me, read my poetry, it's all in there. I am a mother of three sons (my finest moments) a sister, a survivor and a little bit crazy. I lost my beloved sister to suicide, so you'll.. more..
