~hanging by a thorn's last breath...

~hanging by a thorn's last breath...

A Poem by Frieda P

Hanging by a thorn
  beyond darkly committed clouds
     bloom off the proverbial rose
 the prick of time's past
     hung in the balance,
took a leap from faith's flourish
exhaled one final time
   nature shed its essence's sting

Spilled above in bloody tears,
    scattered over the garden
          of last breath's ashen regrets

Knowing the story behind this make it all the sadder to read. For you to create something so quick is amazing to me. The metaphors are stunning and tragic at the same time. Grief is a fire that smolders for the rest of our lives in some way and with your gift of writing you put it into a perspective that is haunting.

Those ashen regrets leave a smoldering image and reality. The prospect will be grief and scattered. But at least we keep hanging by a thread. Excellent...:).......................

A very beautiful and poignant write. We never finish missing the ones we love, do we? Hope you are well.

So much emotion and pain, still fresh, it bleeds through the write. A powerful, moving piece.

This is painful to read... I cannot fathom such grief...

We can only give you comforting words, and hope that you know you are not alone in the shadow.

Reading you words give new meaning to appreciating the people in my life.

(We should not take that for granted)

Thank you for sharing your heart, Friedalicious.~xoxo~

dear Frieda... Roses with their thorns are so typical
of life. I adore the people I have known intimately,
as well as friends, however, I have regrets in that
there were some situations I could have handled
more delicately. For this I have thorns of tears.
Your poem is scented with precious endearments and
gilded in golden embers. truly... Pat
