Reaching for the moon

Reaching for the moon

A Poem by Frieda P
"

waiting on the sun

"

reaching for the moon

under an empty milky way

in haste for timely travel

i saw your still life face

searching stark possibilities

swept away by stardust tears

as darkness crept in small passages

it hung its head low on a peculiar horizon

waiting for a temporary lapse of improbabilities

as desperation sunk into highlighted craters

it shone its half cheese smile waiting on the sun

Interesting. I like the little connections that weave their way through the poem. The loneliness of waiting for the sun is what grabs me about this. The disappointment of wanting love but knowing that someone is out of our reach is the sad part. Great writing Frieda.

Turn that gaze inwards and you will find all the starlight you will ever need. This piece feels real special to me.

Adored this Frieda, this celestial tug on our heartstrings can be wistfully beautiful... And I have to say "half cheese smile" wow awesome. Wonderful work!

Well now which has more meaning the sun whose rays bring life light and warmth.Or the moon under whom millions were conceived ?

Good thought Tate, it's that yin yang concept, can't have one without the other....
One of the things about the sun and moon and improbabilities is that in waiting for the sun, that moon sometimes changes those to probabilities, then to possibilities, and then that dark milky way swirls faster and then depending on your perspective, time distorts and space warps and whoa I'm dizzy... I know Frieda I just don't know how to tell you that I enjoyed your poem immensely (universe sized) easily HA!

and some of us will just keep waiting, and there will always be just a half-moon until there is someone there to share that sky, so that the other half of the moon may show up.

The 'other half of the moon', there's a poem in there somewhere, thanks jacob!
That is a charming little poem… for me it speaks metaphorically for someone waiting to find love.

I know, one of many of your endearing qualities, you know I just love to tease you....
What a wonderful free flowing piece Frieda :)

The possibilities are endless when we are searching for something. I know I've reached for the stars, the moon and smiled at the sun on many occasions.

There are indeed so many stark possibilities when we search for something, reach for something and travel towards something. Your poem is wonderful even seen upon a peculiar horizon....:)...........
