Pour'd my mind in a rhyme...

Pour'd my mind in a rhyme...

A Poem by Frieda P

Thought I found you
in the bottom of amber glass
run to you in rewrite's timely lapses
music in my soul makes me blind
pour'd my mind in a rhyme
    toasted my lustful insanity
lyrics to a darkly hue'd love song
swaying in the beat of a deaf drum
you know I've known better
yet, my mind is still stuck on you

I'm.grinning here....I knew you'd love their music and your poem is perfectly inspired by this song. Amazing lines hun....havent we all stared into the bottom of that glass? We say no more then end up pouring another because we can't walk away from that "heat". Sigh.... going in my favorites.xo

100 musical sighs...

There are words and emotions, and far, far more but- you seem to marry them in such a way that divorce would be impossible. You touch feelings in whatever state you're in and make them familiar to so many of your readers, '.. music in my soul makes me blind.. ' cos, perhaps, it takes you to that 'end of time'

We don't have to hear, ' .. a darkly hue'd love song ~ swaying in the beat of a deaf drum..' but experiencing its throbbing fall-out in your more than graphic offering, dear poet, teaches life-lessons.

Wonderful music you've got here that fits the somberness we all have experienced when searching for answers or relief. Such a pretty color is amber but we are never able to find the answers we crave, like tea leaves in the bottom of the glass they leave us wanting, and wanting more.

the title caught my attention
choice of words really good
meaning well understood kudos
but to be honest i did not like the last two lines

Your poem expresses what goes on deep with a poet’s mind. It inspire me to write this tiny gift poem for you which you may keep as your own.

Amber Wine

At the bottom of my amber mind,
there’s a winding helter-skelter vine
sprouting rhyming grapes of every kind
promising intoxicating wine.

Underneath each captivating rind,
my light concentrates her amber shine
so her essence wont be left behind.
Here she stores her crystalline design.

Hey hey, AM back...I loved this, particularly this line yet, my mind is still stuck on you

If we know better, we're not left with permanent memories. It's those tough ones that linger. Short and sweet, but anyone can relate who has been in love or lust. Loved the connection between the amber glass and "toasted my lustful insanity." You tell such a smooth story.

reminds me of george harrison..."i got my mind set on you"

and sometimes it will go no other place...and we hang on to that dream of "us" even when we know in our hearts that we need to move on.

This was truly beautiful... I loved it all, the imagery and the message inside the poem. I loved the lines I quoted, they really made such an impact to the poem.
