Pour'd my mind in a rhyme...

Pour'd my mind in a rhyme...

A Poem by Frieda P

Thought I found you
in the bottom of amber glass
run to you in rewrite's timely lapses
music in my soul makes me blind
pour'd my mind in a rhyme
    toasted my lustful insanity
lyrics to a darkly hue'd love song
swaying in the beat of a deaf drum
you know I've known better
yet, my mind is still stuck on you

I'm.grinning here....I knew you'd love their music and your poem is perfectly inspired by this song. Amazing lines hun....havent we all stared into the bottom of that glass? We say no more then end up pouring another because we can't walk away from that "heat". Sigh.... going in my favorites.xo

100 musical sighs...

"For My Friend..."

“Does the silence ever help?
Can the voice ever fade?
Will the tears ever dry,
...the night say goodbye?”

I feel lost sometimes
- really do,
in all the whys and circles -
mind-paced
heart-traced
over and round and
over
again and through
and still I wonder so many whys
ways
reasons found, lost,
given, taken
accepted, thought ...unknown
re-lived.

All the questions ever and never answered
...so many
just
reasons -
reasons for the deep circles
my mind has paced into existence
as I listen and listen
to so many echoing heartbeats
- moments now frozen
in time and thought,
place and memory -
existence and
…not.

- even mine are a part –

Each a calling and calling for a presence
- some that were and others
that had never been.

There’s hurt and
pain in sharing
the moments of smiles and
our understandings of
meaning and meanings both found
and lost
and yet we touched
we touched …you and I
in ways I miss
…again.

Laters…

Chris

Still looking for my friend, still treasuring her words..

It's a little too easy to keep staring into the bottom of that glass. Has it really been 4 weeks? That is an eternity. 4 weeks, at least two poems per day, that comes out to 56 poems not posted on here by our shining star. Yeah, okay, the OCD in me just broke down the numbers, what can I say?

Very nice feel to this one Frieda:)

Oh how many times I've seen the bottom of a glass and the company I keep is just too good to pass up so pour another I do.

Troy

Love this!! I adore the title of this and the last line of this is stunning. It's amazing how one person can seem to cause a mental road block and get stuck on them. Great write! xo (:
