Boldness of ink ~

Boldness of ink ~

A Poem by Frieda P
"

prompted after a conversation within a review...

"
voice clearly purg'd though boldness of inky passages
echoing that which most words cannot convey
pen cleanses the sins & fortifies the soul
speaks in volumes of verbose spirit
weeping in steaks of tearful metaphors,
bloodied and effervescent on the page
trails of outpouring sentiment's reward
          & emotional trials that translate
               of transcribed tribulations,
piercing the eye for all to see
   reflections smatter'd upon poetry
 within redemption's freedom
            & salvation's reality

this could almost be a sequel to your other poem about sylvia.

she was so strong in her poetry, as she put it she would "eat men like air"

but in real life she played the subservient role she was expected to...and suffered much for it.

love the angst in your poetry...the sarcasm...you are so good at it, my friend.

Frieda, you express here one of the key aspects of art, all forms of art, but especially poetry; that is as harbinger of change... yes there is the splaying our inner fears and pains, our suffering and raging against the realities of the world, our lives all the way to our cores and with metaphoric magic of words, show everyone what and who we are as we also seethe for a better human experience... what a musical image.. "first we take Manhattan, then we take Berlin"... but why stop there???

these lines get at it I think: "pen cleanses the sins & fortifies the soul
speaks in volumes of verbose spirit
weeping in steaks of tearful metaphors,
bloodied and effervescent on the page"....
and I am remined of another line in a poem written by Mao Tsetung (Ode To The Plum Blossom)
"She seeks not spring time for herself alone" whether we write in this way on purpose (consciously) or just to as you say: " within redemption's freedom
& salvation's reality"
non the less, it affects us all and influences how we see and understand the world and all that is in it... Jacob I think mentioned Sylvia... aren't our lived better for her life and poetry???
Frieda, I really liked this poem, it must have been a really good conversation within a review... cause it surely evoked a wonderful poem... ~~redzone

Exactly, thanks Rachelle....
When you write, no matter the subject, it is always splendid and so gorgeously written. It always shows what a gorgeous woman you are (like I always tell you) and your words just make glow off my screen. When we share apart of us to the world it can be daunting but we do it anyway, because for us, writing is cathartic.

I adore this one... 100 huggles, flip flops & all that jazz! xo

You are most welcome Frieda. Thank you for sharing.
So very beautiful! And all so very true, releasing all those inner thoughts and feelings is brave enough but to let everyone in on it is amazing. They are so personal and we put so much into them that only another poet can truly appreciate. Sharing the deepest of them is still something working on. Always growing with each piece and unexpectedly finding just a bit of peace that we cannot find elsewhere. Great write! Thank you :)))

Your ink is bold, your trail is mystery and your salvation is freedom from within. First we take Manhattan then we take the world with our ink...Excellent...

You are welcome muchly...:).........................
When we write a poem we expose our soul, it is a risk worth taken when we release the emotional pain from the spirit.

You are very welcome Mooonbeam.
Words spoken and penned are most certainly therapeutic and I could not have said it better myself. In this I can imagine a person pouring themself into the pages of a journal only to have somebody else read and relate to the journals and interpret them in their own way . . . Reminds me of Emily Dickinson, in a way. I liked this.
