KUBLA/FRIEDA COLLAB: WHITE NOISE REHAB

KUBLA/FRIEDA COLLAB: WHITE NOISE REHAB

A Poem by Frieda P

joy echoes within pain's mentality
sinking to the depths of hostility
chasms of voided punctuation
coming down the virtual abysmal pike
looking glass questions broken molds
whoever made you who you are
now a fragmented sustenance
skyward in atmospheric holds
paid the piper tenfold
coming round hard again
gorged on fear's master plot
engulfed in self defense hereafter
altered the phoenix Lazarus's plight of fancy
raised the bar of hourglass lessons
in dusty rewritten history's score
spoken amen upon kingdom's door
knocked at opportunity's disavowing contempt
spurned  rejection's commencing cold shoulder
sanctioned on a new horizon's embrace
ascended an amber moon's rising sun
upon retribution of salvation's pardon
sang hallelujah in lofty acceptance's key
a banshee's sermon lulled to slumber
on its theoretic pillow of white noise
snores of rapt anxiety infecting peace of mind
with shallow heaves of doomsday rasp
the keenest clan cremated their prescription
pills and withdrew into time capsule rehabilitation
the paid piper left to pad his vices unattended
stole away with the morrow's box of odds
leaving nothing but a stack of purity's
defunct receipts
a redundancy of dizzy hourglasses
retching on the flawed economics
of last resorts under guise of final offers
history became negotiable when languages erupted
the doorknob exploded giving birth to
rhetorical landmines
apathy's implicit damning of philanthropy
grew dimensions and entombed the breath
of blue infinity debunking it to death

Out of the ash
I rise with my red hair
And I eat men like air.

Sylvia Plath 23-29 October 1962

I absolutely love this except I would love to know who wrote what. I think I can tell by each of your writing styles now but I'd like to be sure. It looks like you each might be using descriptions to sketch each other and the way one see's the other but whatenever it is (misspelled on purpose), it is alright with me :).

Your welcome
Two brilliant minds combined create a masterpiece. You took me on a roller coaster of life's ups, downs, sarcasm, wit, humor and morbidness. Loved it. Encore!

Ha my sentiments too!
Nothing subtle here! This is powerful and thought provoking like buttery popcorn in my head and it is just busting the lid off! I love that! Not many poems get me worked up but this is beyond great poetry this is timeless. Brava my new friend! HUGS!

Ha, we don't do subtle ;) Thanks so much Patricia, jazz'd you enjoyed! xo
Once again you are able to sing with one voice. It flows perfectly but its notes hit upon discordant images that are powerful and thought provoking. And I agree that apathy has destroyed philanthropy and that line made me so sad. I did love this:

ascended an amber moon's rising sun
upon retribution of salvation's pardon
sang hallelujah in lofty acceptance's key
a banshee's sermon lulled to slumber
on its theoretic pillow of white noise

WOW...this one just knocks the reader over. They say white noise is supposed to help you sleep but theres nothing to yawn about in this poem. Its another wild ride that blasts you from side to side. Lol... oh and I love the Sylvia Plath quote. Wonder why?? Ha... bravo you two. Well done...another amazing collab..;-D

Leonard Cohen, Sharon Robinson and this line:
"upon retribution of salvation's pardon
sang hallelujah in lofty acceptance's key
a banshee's sermon lulled to slumber
on its theoretic pillow of white noise".... never knew you could get salvation from a banshee's sermon, and flowing as it does between you two, I think perhaps the hallelujah is also off key... but the line that threw me most was the first 2 lines:
"joy echoes within pain's mentality
sinking to the depths of hostility"... suffering is indeed joy within pain's hostility...

if reading your wonderful collab is stepping on landmines then I am writing this disembodied in rhetoric and happy for reading... Thanks Steve, Thanks Frieda I am off to find some glue and put myself back together... ;0) ~~redzone
