Hot coffee glances ~

Hot coffee glances ~

A Poem by Frieda P
"

reminiscing...

"

Reminiscing  within gentle quivers,

   entrancing scent of magnolias

    wafting on summer breezes,

early morning's steaming coffee glances

love scribbles left on the sheets

in inky true blue sentiment's hue

a warm embrace around the waist

wisps of hair flying in moonlight

tender kisses on closed eyes,

   sweet whisper'd  lingerings  upon

    indulgences  of oil drenched skin,

breathing in reflections of  spirit's fiery embers

lit the intensity ablaze in my heart

I am slowly but surely attempting to catch up on some of your older pieces, which I didn't get around to reviewing when they were still new...you know I hate missing out on any of your works, but with an imagination a prolific as yours, sometimes things slip through the cracks...you can forgive me for missing the odd one, right Mrs.R? ;)

Two reasons for starting with this one: it's the oldest one of yours in my RR list, and of course, the title...of course, after 67 reviews there isn't much else for even me to say...it takes me about five poems to get that many reviews, but that's beside the point ;P And you can probably surmise the things that are going through my mind as I read this one anyway...it has me thinking, probably more now than I would have been had I read it in April...it's fairly direct by your standards, but as always, it's unmistakably you...I wonder how long it's been since you've read this one yourself...I'm as intrigued by that as I am by the poem, cuz I'm wondering what you'll say when you do ultimately get this review...again, there just isn't much I can say about the poem itself, I can only concur with that everyone else has said...I'll try to get so some of the others as soon as possible love :) xo

I'm just getting back on here... and have found my mailbox full of much needed reviews. This one is the second piece or yours that I've read since returning. And let me say, it's just a fantastic piece of work. Sublty woven. I wish I could give you some contructive criticism... but alas, I wouldn't change a thing on this one! Nice write!

This is such a beautiful poem, so light and serene with imagery that brings it to life like on a feather. I truly enjoyed reading and appreciating this poem.

Very well-crafted & sensory descriptions of a loving situation. Many refreshing & delightful tastes and sips and sniffs of what this scenario feels like. My favorite lines:
"love scribbles left on the sheets
in inky true blue sentiment's hue
a warm embrace around the waist"

Reading Steve's review I had to laugh since here I am just now reading your poem (over a year and a half late!!)... it must have been the smell of your coffee that drew me in Frieda, not to mention the "indulgences of oil drenched skin" and "fiery embers" of "love scribbles left on the sheets"... sigh...
er... more coffee please and yes, glances, oh my!!

you chose a great song to go with this poem Frieda, I think for those who read and listen, the fire burns in our hearts, I know it does in mine...

If anyone can witness soul in penmanship you surely can Frieda. The ink settles into loving hands, the mind whispers in symphonic verse and your heart sends your bliss across continents.
