When sun sets...

When sun sets...

A Poem by Frieda P

When sun sets
    and children sleep,
springtime dragonflies elicit
        flower's burst of laughter
moon comes out to play
fairies prance on puff'd marshmallow clouds
awakening silken marmalade skies
     within drenched apricot buttermilk dreams
where lovers deeply sigh
     dancing in the contentment
of a world in slumber'd peace

It seems to be that the sunset takes you to magical places.... it gets our brains wishing and hoping. When there is a sunset everything seems perfect and loving.

I loved this one, Mama F, this was written so beautifully and with so much heart and emotion.

When sunset falls, we take ourselves to our own place we wish to go to, imagining things only we could imagine. Dream those dreams taking us away for the time. Fabulous piece.

So much ease of flow and so nice storyline ! I thought it to be a bedtime story from my childhood days :)

Frieda I want some of whatever you're drinking.. make mine a double dragonfly bug juice straight up please... and barkeep while your up get Frieda an apricot buttermilk with a shot of Red Label... I may be wrong here but when the moon comes out dancing, quite possibly its had a few too many of those marshmallows...

Frieda I could see you smiling, hell even laughing as you wrote this. Well I did both as I read... ;0) ~~redzone

Thanks so much for your kind words Sanober, jazz'd you enjoyed this one my friend.
this is so soothing Frieda...
wish i could go back to youth, and get a night's sleep---i hardly sleep through the night...of course often the muse is to blame...but i guess as we age, we don't want to miss too many hours of awakeness since we have less and less time left to enjoy.

Yes, sunset is a magical time. I was inspired to write this gift poem for you to keep as your own:

Night Mice

Watching for the setting sun
tiny mice come out to play
in the moonlight were they run
after sleeping through the day;

but their work is never done
for each mouse must find her way
past that cat that all must shun,
to that big cheese on display.

You are most welcome Frieda.
Realm of dreams
Escaping the reality
Which darkens our lives.

Where hope and faith
Blosoms like the sweetest rose
Available to everyone
Who wishes to inhale
It heavenly scent.

Your welcome, Frieda.
That is where I want to be when the sun sets. You have created a place of beauty and serenity. Beneath the canopy of the dark sky you always find the light.
