~barefoot on buttermilk clouds

~barefoot on buttermilk clouds

A Poem by Frieda P

Fragile as a rose petal

easily bruised

of the heart

strength of an iron butterfly

secrets as resilient

 in her soul

breathing in the universe

& all its untold mysteries

she floats barefoot

 on buttermilk clouds

taking reckless chances

 with her elusive spirit,

dancing about an effulgent

 darkly contriv'd world

 fluttering in swirls of her

 own smoky sublimity

It waits for us...lingering rose petal bruises and heart beat iron butterfly drum solos. Strength in the face of everyday universal fear is one thing but floating with your eyes wide open, absorbing all that is around you, drinking in the splendor that sings via many voices while holding s deep and unyielding pain in your soul shows the resolve you keep within all that you do dear poet. Many of us face these things, some handle them like you while others fail miserably. For every word you write there is a breath...hoping this one stays with me as I breathe one last time.

Your poetry has had such a profound affect on me...thank you for what you have been to me. I shall always be amazed and consider myself fortunate to have known you.

A chance of love taken so sweetly. A broken heart caressed by a lover. This is what I see in your poem.

Grazie mille Julie, thrilled you enjoyed this one. :-)
'reckless chances" are not bad at all...why not take them...

otherwise life just passes by at a monotone pace.

nicely done as always Miss Frieda.

Yep. You are welcome muchly...:)...................
As is so often the case with your writing Mrs.R, you had at the title...titles are one of your many strengths, which is saying something when talking of a poet with no weaknesses ;) Every chance we take has an element of recklessness to it, but it's how we learn. The willingness to breath in the universe and take in all of its mysteries is perhaps the boldest chance we ever take. It's a dangerous place out there, this universe of ours, but you make it sound so inviting with your ever-seductive pen and brilliant poetic chops. I know you weren't entirely happy with this one but trust me, it's a winner...another one :) A most intriguing and apt clip as well ;) xo

I concur, thanks muchly Pryde.
That title is beyond beautiful. These lines are simply sigh worthy:

she floats barefoot
on buttermilk clouds
taking reckless chances
with her elusive spirit,

To have the freedom to take chances even reckless ones sounds intoxicating.
