~ diabolical dreams

~ diabolical dreams

A Poem by Frieda P

my diabolical dreams

haunting me whilst awake

screaming in head's deliverance

venturing into comic disbelief

mind ticks of dread'd consciousness

truth comes in nightmare's relief

I couldn't help but equate the dream you speak of to a common misery we all brave through some time or another, which is the sorrow from the aftermath of a heartbreak. Truth comes when the nightmare ends and you are able to evaluate things rationally for what they truly are.
Terrifying nonetheless how nightmares are often as real as our dreams, and how they manipulate our judgment very easily.

All good. ;-)
I love the dishevelment and chaos in this wild surreal world you have created here Frieda !

Insanity, profanity and profoundly, poetically resplendent!! ( great accompanying soundtrack too )

What a chilling read! This is a fantastic write about the mind and how there really is no escaping our mental state. Hope to see more soon! :)

No, there's no escaping it, seems so, thanks so much Madalyn!
Wow Frieda, this piece is very Edgar Allen Poe-ish...
Sometimes nightmares are tame when compared to ones reality.
You are amazing...like a prize fighter, you throw punches from all angles.

I love that band. Great song to go with this poem. Fits wonderfully.

I love this entire poem. I can't stand nightmares, though they're usually what I have for some reason.

reminds me of me when I am half awake and half asleep, don't even want to think about nightmares, god knows where they might lead, nice insight though.....
