Preaching to van Gogh's missing ear...

Preaching to van Gogh's missing ear...

A Poem by Frieda P
"

~just another rant

"

Steamy ink boiled over

the kettle of opportunistic metaphors

poison'd doses in gray's gangrene slur,

don't attempt to sleep in my mouth

like a w***e in head, the sword in bed

taboo artistes in monotonic ambivalent jaws

clamping down without remorse

chomp'd away at an asunder analogy

piss'd in my jeans and expect'd to get fed

spit it out on the polar opposite cafe floor

unicorns dwellings of butter'd blessings

broken bread & barely berry wine of Monet's encores

bite the ear that fed you preaching van Gogh

perhaps they'll listen for insanity to be set free

confining rules taught us naught to stutter

pay your monopoly dues in bleakest sermons

pass the bucket of superiority's conquests

bled of analgesic ego's epic divided faction's fiction

don't forget to wipe your shadow on the way out

So many lines that have left me awestruck, where do I begin?

First off, that title: brilliant, as clever as the phrase "For Stevie Wonder's eyes only!"
Speaking of the ear, are they preaching to a deaf person or appealing to the severed ear? Either way is equally useless, yet they present forth two clashing states: one, an ear without a head to actually hear the words spoken and two, preaching to a body with no ear (refusing to actually listen and just deafly agreeing to what's being said).
Then you go on to speak of men who gnash jaws but mean nothing, speaking of beliefs they might not even believe themselves. Those words could even be poisonous to those that ingest it, inflicting a sickness that is able to spread quickly through the tongue.
After saying so, you go on comparing it to "unicorn dwellings" then appeal to the insanity of van Gogh, and end it by referring to the cycle as just a means to build money through a contest competing with other products of other imaginations . . .

Marvelously breathtaking, friend, I must say this is one of my favorites from you. I envy you for penning this exquisite, impressive piece.

Wipe you shadow on your way what a killer line. Those who most need to listen never do. I'm just happy he didn't remove his tongue...sometimes the voices get so damn loud.

Dancing on someone's toes in the midst of an angered and seemingly off key song. It seems that some where along the line well...some line was crossed and the sand swirled up to kick them in the a*s or perhaps someplace out of front of that.

Still the words swing hard and fast and I can only hope they hit their intended target. Very riveting my sweet friend.

Holy cow Mrs.R, where do I start with this one? I guess I'll start with this: don't attempt to sleep in my mouth / like a w***e in head, the sword in bed...wow, there are a lot of dark and musty corners in those lines, not to mention the last line which is money. Now I've been told that my metaphors are good, but Van Gogh's ear? That's PERFECT...and through all the vitriol you still manage to work Monet into it, which veers close to comic relief against the backdrop of these sentiments. I wish my rants were this exquisite my friend...another knockout piece :) xo
