Fickl'd Cravings

Fickl'd Cravings

A Poem by Frieda P

I have seen you in your divine graciousness

         & around darkly color'd spaces

I've tasted your exquisite nectar upon my tongue

and felt the tang of your bitterness

Have craved your heat'd breath upon my skin

felt your fickle chill'd shoulder upon my nape

We've aligned in perfect harmonious rhyme

falter'd in our symmetry of authenticity

Been caught under your gray hurricane storm clouds

soaked in your light amber'd wash of rays

Dust particles 'tween our here and there

                 prance amidst our equilibrium,

Knocking my heart off balance,

tho' letting me land unto a soft haven

      Even when wildly sideways steps

stomp me dead in my tracks

Our tango'd dance of non-stop capricious whirling

still flips my world  upside down

You certainly know how to bring a dance to life on paper Mrs.R, or the monitor if you will haha There is often a hint at danger too, a suggestion that there may be more to the partner in question...but when a man knows how to dance, that seems to make all the potential danger worthwhile ;) Lines eight and nine were swooners for sure. My name's going on your dance card for sure, and I'm bringing the grey hurricane with me ;) xo

Love the song, it's amazing.

As for your poem, it speaks volumes and honestly is my new favourite of yours.

I loved the imagery within these lines. I'm speechless. Great job once again.

thank you :D
Oh god.. excuse me for not necessarily reviewing... I am just still hypnotized by the most beautiful ambiance song on your front page and this sensual dance of carefully chosen words.

" Even when wildly sideways steps "

Exquisite alliteration.. Seriously, being young and stupid, I barely have no choice of words that could bring this piece higher than it already is. I will definitely check out everything you have to offer. Thank you very much for this.
Cheers ~ !

Wooo doing the happy dance to your review, thanks so much Yann. Cheers!
Delightful wordplay, lyrical in its execution. Your masterful phrasing really makes this one shine. The rhythms of a heart in love makes for an interesting dance. Incredible work, Frieda.

Thanks so much Landred, appreciate your kind words.
An elegant fire of words and thoughts... how you weave this dance of heat and light, even on the fickle fields of love. And it is a dance, isn't it.. one we sometimes stumble over. Keep ever dancing. :)

Always dancing, it might not always be the right steps but you know? ;-) Grazie mille Craig.
If I have never seen beauty, I have seen it now. This wonderful collection of words has danced its way right into my heart. This melodic piece is flowing with wondrous emotions and tempting thoughts that make my head swirl in a dizzying array of spectacular visions. My sweet friend, I know I can be a jerk at times...but when I find your words, your phrases, the amazing talent that is you, it is I who slaps myself in the back of the head and says...wake up, there's beauty to be seen.

My world would not be complete without your poetry...plain and simple. Truly amazing.
