Fickl'd Cravings

Fickl'd Cravings

A Poem by Frieda P

I have seen you in your divine graciousness

         & around darkly color'd spaces

I've tasted your exquisite nectar upon my tongue

and felt the tang of your bitterness

Have craved your heat'd breath upon my skin

felt your fickle chill'd shoulder upon my nape

We've aligned in perfect harmonious rhyme

falter'd in our symmetry of authenticity

Been caught under your gray hurricane storm clouds

soaked in your light amber'd wash of rays

Dust particles 'tween our here and there

                 prance amidst our equilibrium,

Knocking my heart off balance,

tho' letting me land unto a soft haven

      Even when wildly sideways steps

stomp me dead in my tracks

Our tango'd dance of non-stop capricious whirling

still flips my world  upside down

You certainly know how to bring a dance to life on paper Mrs.R, or the monitor if you will haha There is often a hint at danger too, a suggestion that there may be more to the partner in question...but when a man knows how to dance, that seems to make all the potential danger worthwhile ;) Lines eight and nine were swooners for sure. My name's going on your dance card for sure, and I'm bringing the grey hurricane with me ;) xo

Accepting the terms of the dance as part of the whole routine, considering every step and knowing that despite the exhaustion and mistakes and the graceful moves, it all comes together as one that still sweeps you off your feet to this day. well done.

Spectacular dance of word and passion!
That last line is perfection.

Artwork and words. A amazing journey. Most times when we tango without regards for the ending. We are enjoying life. No weakness in the excellent poetry.

Thanks BR!
It's so easy to lose oneself in the lover's dance... Wonderful wordplay and physical imagery here, Frieda.

Thanks again Rita, muchly appreciated.
Are wants and desires are out of our hands, sometimes we don't understand them, but they have a mind of their own… excellent poetry… plus love the song, speking of which I desire me some Katy Perry.
