Fat tuesday's half moon...

Fat tuesday's half moon...

A Poem by Frieda P

We engag'd over coffee au lait

beignets at Cafe Du Monde ~

Mardi Gras was sweet delirium

caught up in frenzied displays of passion

we crash'd into each other's expectations

under a fat tuesday's half moon

French Quarter flipp'd us a big easy

     jazz'd within breath's fiery release

mask'd emotions as beads of sweat,

    Bacchus paraded around our sin

our rituals proved no epiphany

grand fiesta under this spell was worth shriving

redemption floated away soon after festivities fast

Happy Fat Tuesday to you my sweet friend. Your wonderful poem has whisked me off to the land of jazz music and colorful beads. I can picture myself sitting at the Cafe du Monde with a frsh hot cuppa dn some sweet treats watching the world go by in all of its wonder and celebration. I can feel the cool breeze flowing off of the Mississippi and hear the lone saxophonist playing on its shoreline walkway. This was a wonderful treat this morning Frieda. You have taken me there...will you join me?
