~ Chambermade

~ Chambermade

A Poem by Frieda P

Upon my dressing table,

   silly, sentimental reminders of you

     musky scent of your cologne

a love note handwritten in a crimson hue

             stained in chambord teardrops

still a knotted tie strewn over the mirror

dark as night locks stuck in a boar brush,

a vintage sparkly pin, token of your affection

   I remember our reflections

           when we were two

you held me close to your chest

fondled my breasts in clear view

aroused me till I couldn't breathe

we fell to earth in passionate rhyme

sway'd til dawn in night's sweet surrender

all these keepsakes and visions now abandon'd

I sigh at my reflective disconsolate despair

~ now a permanent accoutrement in my empty bedchamber

i like this...feeling the emptiness of one who is gone...but not being able to get rid of the reminders...

and yet, this is almost like emily dickinson...who only had imaginary lovers...fantasies...

and they touched her, but only in her mind...wonder how aroused she got.

I love this...it is so sexy and sad in its loneliness. How do you do it?

This is so great...the chambermaid concept, everything. Loved..."dark as night locks stuck in a boar brush, a vintage sparkly pin, token of your affection" and then how it ties to the last line so brilliantly, beautifully. Loved..."I remember our reflections
when we were two"...so good! And "fondled my breasts in clear view
aroused me till I couldn't breathe
we fell to earth in passionate rhyme"...hot! vivid visual, love it! Great work again!

Oh this is utterly romantic, sensual and just stunning. Something that alot of us will reminisce and wish would happen either again or for the first time. I loved the structure and wording. It added so much 'oomph' and was just totally brilliant.

// a love note handwritten in a crimson hue
stained in chambord teardrops
still a knotted tie strewn over the mirror
dark as night locks stuck in a boar brush, //

These lines are amazing... they can blow anyone away. A relatable write for many.

I love how the memories become more sensual and erotic, and then reality hits even harder at the end.

A familiar feeling to everyone. We tend to reminisce things...bringing past to the present...only to make the longing stronger. Just us..as humans.

Nice craft once more, Frieda. I'm so impressed with this one....going to my library.
Kudos!

Ahhh, so beautiful, and sad, and remembering the good when one is now alone -- well penned. I must ask tho, did you mean chambor'd not chambord?
