Crush'd

Crush'd

A Poem by Frieda P

Crippled teardrops ache

relief drips crimson pools

fragile heartfelt moments

buried deep within damage

misery rages in aged flames

afraid to breathe in fire,

scars affect hourglass time

dying in the anesthesia

cuts deep to the bone

annihilating freedom's tomb

killer instincts in sorted rush

bitter taste upon the soul

cold truths' pithless shivers

strangers bared in rhyme

blood cours'd through cursed veins

crushed 'tween hung tooth'd denial

I enjoyed this play of words because it speaks of the way unfortunate memories seem to alter our perceptions in life while hardly bringing up an example. Just an outright expression for the way it grows within us, and how the emotions amplify with time. Your reference to strangers in the end intrigues me, though. Is it so that the strangers are actual strangers who indulge each other's memory, or is it that they are two strangers on opposite sides of the spectrum crooning the same tune? Nonetheless, well done, friend. Keep it up

Ouch yes...thanks so much for your thoughts Antonyo.
I feel the “cold truths” here:

Tears

It’s much more than wise
that all the world cries
over broken ties
through our liquid eyes.

Thanks for sharing Aethereal.
Frieda, sometimes you write things that make me want to try and swoop you up and take you some where sunny. This is surely one of those things.

100 heartfelt moments

Thankfully there's poetry, thanks paddy.
The pain you must endure just destroys me inside. Your poem today is filled with this sorrow...each line cries to me in winter chill tear drops and the cold weakens me and brings me to my knees. My sweet Frieda you are an amazing poet and a dear friend. Always I look forward to a new work from you I just wish this theme did not have to be written.

100 frozen tear drops.
