Fractur'd Marmalade Glints

Fractur'd Marmalade Glints

A Poem by Frieda P
"

Silken thoughts & gunny sacks

"

Silken thoughts woven

           into scratchy gunnysack

   cherry pits strewn haphazardly about

                     dancing wildflowers' amusement

 rough seas b'speckled

           with azure'd diamond glints

silver sun running amok

                 on  yacht'd Greek beaches infamy

scorch'd salty shores dappl'd

                      in pink rhinestones

marmalade's fractures

jarring tastebuds of tongue twist'd elation

  musical notes fray in Fsharp

                harmony's wafting remembrance's tenuto

spaces tween that disenchant the muse's affection

wafting metaphorical smokiness stings the eyes

snow drifts packed with spring luggage

          baggage compartmentalized

                              in undesirable code

irony's crush upon oxymoron's poetic prance

        perfum'd toxins breathing

                         fire dragon's lust'd gusto

yin and yang, perfectly suit'd of

                       imperfect heady stances

  darkly color'd light shadows

                   within frazzled drizzles of rain

undertones and highlights of life's skewer'd appeal

gray flannel's comforts of a peculiar rhyme

                                            set to tempo's diversions

                 in rhythmic emotions

breathless sands of time cavorting in stillness

                beautiful torture to die for

living in torn moments of utterly chaotic bliss

I am reading this menagerie of wonderful thoughts and ideas this morning through blurred eyes and a mind that is as foggy as the scene outside of my window yet some how it all makes sense...this wonderful work is charged with electric visions and direct current wonderings. I love how you have put this together Frieda.

"Snow drifts packed with spring luggage" What a cool line, one I wished I'd written.

Those torn moments of utterly chaotic bliss do lend us to dreaming...somewhere out past the winter weather, beyond the white abyss and chilled temps to sunny spaces where warm is your constant companion. Last night was a rough night and I really didn't want morning to get here too soon, but to find this poem waiting...well my friend, this is utterly chaotic bliss and it made waking up so worthwhile.

Amazing Frieda...

Your very welcome. :-)
Daydreaming entire worlds in our minds that could fit in a knapsack and yet extend infinitely all over . . . So very intriguing! Well done, indeed, I liked this.

Every color dances in this piece, Frieda. You have woven so many compelling images:

jarring tastebuds of tongue twist'd elation... snow drifts packed with spring luggage... irony's crush upon oxymoron's poetic prance...

I had a bit of difficulty with the tight font, but this was worth the effort!

love the oxymorons in this...

blissful chaos...fractured marmalade...marmalade fractures me(one of the few things i just cannot eat)...but the poem propels running thoughts, in perfect confusion...and dazzling shadows dancing...

and i don't know where the next step leads..but i am following.
