Disconnect'd / death of a mockingbird ~

Disconnect'd / death of a mockingbird ~

A Poem by Frieda P

fell to earth like the death of a mockingbird
claws still left in my heart's discontent
lost its shine before its untimely demise
musings came undone mid-flight
this plight never had a chance to fly
scatter wildflowers on my grave-site
will you kindly please,
here lies the soul of peaceful lyrics

    sing song's
        harmonies
               disconnect
                     from
                         reality's
                              rhyme

This is so sad my sweet friend. That feeling of having broken wings when we lose someone very close to us. Watching them fly off makes it so hard to get off the ground at times. Try as we may, our wings refuse to take flight and our heart breaks even more. This was achingly wonderful Frieda. Made my heart slow just a bit.

Had me singing the Beatle’s Blackbird in my head as I read.

Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise.

Amazing as always Frieda.

Such deep sadness in this brief and beautiful piece, Frieda. Losing a loved one clips our own wings...

Wow that one hit me, thanks so much Mike.
Sigh...theres a very deep sorrow in this one hun. The kind that many can relate to...as we've all lost a loved one far too soon. Its hard to think of our own personal mockingbird taking flight while we are left here on the ground. This made my eyes fill...sending you extra luv...xo

Love the mysterious darkness of this piece that actually shines a bit of hope. A very Poe'esque quality to this fine little poem.

You know that I know that some days are worse than others... I really wish I wasn't a pond away from you and I could give you the biggest huggles you've ever had. Right now the best I can do is air hugs and send you all my love. This was so sad. You own my tears right now. You never do feel the same after you have lost someone who is so dear to you.

Sending all my huggles and love to you. xoxo

I felt that cross the pond peanut, thanks muchly for all your warmth and huggles. xo
My sweet friend, I've not forgotten that this is a painful day...I knew where the title was taking me and I wish I could escape from it with you in tow. But it is a place that none of us can truly access...the best we can hope to do is earn a visitation by willing to take upon our own shoulders the emotional weight of your ethereal reflections. Every word, every image, is a teardrop. My reading of this work is an extension of a hug...xo
