To market woes...

Lovely painting by my very talented, good friend Star....she's amazing.

She carries all her woes with her~

nobody knows what's behind those eyes

secrets tucked inside her veil'd disposition

smiles as she walks to market each day

carrying with her pails of hush'd mystery

villagers think she's just a tad uptight

doesn't speak much and when she does 

she whispers around dark corners light

an enigma of her own right

only she knows of this plight

each day she trudges to and fro

the loveliest of them all,

inside her heart and soul 

color'd of discontent's confusion

her pink pipe dream delusions 

are the only semblance of rationale

her appearance of self righteousness

a  ploy to hide even within the recesses

of her own treasured mind's illusions

How did you know me so intimately? Good gracious! You are creepy, mother!

Kidding aside, I love the story within this poem. You gave life and beauty to the painting (which, by the way, is intriguingly lovely). You fused mystery in the character and that makes me feel like I know her personally. As usual, you write so well! Can I borrow your pen, mothernutter?

She truly is hugely talented....and my lovely ex has custody of those, and being the wonderful man he is, is not letting me confiscate those. ;-)

Ive always been moved by Stars works....youve used a number of them on previous poems. She is very talented but like most of us creative types probably sees her creations through harshly critical eyes. Please tell her that she is not alone in that feeling....I also dont see my work as others do. But she is an amazing artist

I feel as if I'm the girl going through her sorrowed life. Feeing what she feels as she goes along. The painting is fantastic and works so well with great piece. As I was reading it was a bit different in style or what have you than some of your others but still not taking from the greatness of it. I like that one can be a bit different sometimes.

Your friend there is very talented. Does she sell them and where?

Thanks so much BlackRose, I thought it felt different too but I just let the painting dictate what I was feeling. She doesn't, also she lives in the UK, Manchester to be exact, but she has sent me a few of the ones I fell in love with...thanks again, she'll be thrilled to hear that.

Well you know I was waiting for this one. My word Frieda, this is quite a different style for you but as beautiful as anything I've seen come from your pen. The feelings this invokes in me are so very relatable. This sadness that she feels you have brought forward and allowed me to be one with the young girl in the painting. I would like to say though that your words, the way you have written them, the visions they create in my mind allowed me to see this beautiful paining before I ever got to the bottom of your poem where it was waiting.

And the painting...she is very talented. I love the background colors how they blend and create the feelings in this work. The sadness of the young girl just cries from the paint and they way her hair is colored, as if reflecting her surroundings, just blows me away. I almost feel as if I am walking with this girl through thi sorrowed scene. So I guess I can be considered the lucky one here...two amazing women in one place. Does your friend sell her work? I would love to see more of it. Please pass on to her how much I adore her painting.

Back to the poem, this is a really special piece, I really love this poem. I love the feel, the vibe I got, the sadness was beautifully displayed and I felt sorry for her as I came to the end. It is as if you introduced me to someone very new and very real.
