Ahh, that tough exterior appears again, but having read most of your poetry on this site you are not kidding anyone. We all know that you are a caring, loving person with a huge heart and being the mother of 3 wonderful boys, I am sure the instance to forgive has come up more times than one can count. Also by reading your poetry is it clearly evident that some things in life are so horrific and evil that they are beyond forgiveness in any sense of the word and to forget, though perhaps something we’d like to do, will not happen. But people make mistakes and we do find ways to forgive them everyday. Only a bitter old woman (or man) does not have the ability to forgive certain things. And it is obvious from your beautiful poetry and to those of us who know you, you are neither of these. (Especially the man part). But in the end you leave us with another amazing piece of work that we have all come to know and expect from you. Very clever Frieda.
Is it me, or does the woman in the graphic look like Myrna Loy?

You're right. Jack's loving words notwithstanding, I think you are as hard headed as I am. I come from an unforgiving family--and none of us are Jesus.

This is one of my favorite kinds of poetry. Make the reader react. Forgiveness is necessary for the soul. Still need distance and separation for things done to damage us. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and the enjoyable poetry.

Superb piece. To me it depends on how DEEP the hurt and if the wrongs will always reoccur and if we could ever. But those others it's no question that we couldn't do so.

I do have the ability to forgive but I do not have the ability to forget. And not all sins are forgivable according to the St. Icelandicblue Book of Verses.

Of course not, you're a woman...I'd like a copy of that book thank you very muchly.
Sometimes we can't forgive and we can't forget but we try our damnest too.... Three strikes and you're out I guess... It hurts when you hurt the ones close to you, I know I would do anything to get them back, go to lengths and all.
Nice one, I can relate.

If you want to know me, read my poetry, it's all in there. I am a mother of three sons (my finest moments) a sister, a survivor and a little bit crazy. I lost my beloved sister to suicide, so you'll.. more..
