Darkly hue'd requiem

Darkly hue'd requiem

A Poem by Frieda P

requiem for darkly hue'd nothingness
faceless hauntings with no name
puzzled angst sent on ghastly devil's wings
ghosts of where crimson songs had hung,
to distort and betray mind's dimly lit sanity
ravaging each prudent thought in liber
ation's crush
plunging ceremoniously into another dirge
sans Hallelujah's voracious point of view
covetous in its proclivity for
 gluttonous acquisitions
sinful penance without due diligence
unsigned contracts bled humanity's animosity
tempted within satan's lustful strife

I'm sure my mind is taking this so far off the path you intended (likely telling something about my current state of mind) but I am looking at this dark place of "sinful penance" as life itself, birth being its own death, pulling us away from that Halleluia... Whatever your intention, Frieda, you have painted a vivid dark scene, and made me think...

What an incredible deep insight into feelings, coming from a dark place in life . Dreams of a dark kind do take over your mind. Well written.

This reminds of the old saying: An idle mind is a devil's workshop. Don't know if you meant that...but that was the first thing that came to my mind!

Thanks so much Ghosh, I enjoyed your interpretation.
Whenever we write about anything that's our state of mind, is that right? Then your state is now dark! Are you scared about something?
Great poetry you have made. Darr lag raha hai.

I'm thrilled to know you write dark poems, too. It's a nice break from the usual romance thing. ;) Very well-written piece, mothernutter!

Hauntings with no names, empty, nameless space, and suffering due to not doing a particular action, portrayed as an unsigned contract and penance without diligence . . . It sounds a lot like limbo, the state in between Heaven and Hell where the nonbelievers are said to go, hence the unsigned contract. Those that do nothing wrong, but are not in the right quite yet . . . Vividly dark, you express this well, I like it.
