Apprehension's Rhyme

Apprehension's Rhyme

A Poem by Frieda P

Apprehension, tucked in heart's intuition
    love grows old and insignificant
      once upon a time there
          was felicitous anticipation

This plight haunts my memory's spirit
   captured within guilt's sunlight
    windows upon my soul,
         now darkly tinged contemplation

Pensive thoughts rain hit or miss through
                   frosted reflector's windowpain
sad cricket sounds remind me of an old rhythm
              when  poetry still rhymed ~

Winds blow by, arresting breath
as growing older fades star's night
      wise man once told me,
believe in
the angels of your own fateful heart

We used to dance in well versed harmony
bluebirds never sang of stormy endings
and there was no such thing
as 'once upon a' in time

Never such a thing as once upon a time.. Telling the sad tale of a love that's kickstarted and withered far too many times to count, enhanced by your wooing diction. I liked this, it speaks of a memory uniquely, in a way I can't pinpoint but still gets to me.

Haha what can I say, I'm a slow learner...........thanks lee.
I'm beginning to realise and learn that love doesn't always last forever, I think sometimes you are so caught up with each other at the beginning that you soon get bored and grow apart.

Took my breath away Mama F, I loved this one and the music was perfection.

You're always welcome my dear friend, have a wonderful one:)
I like the last line very much Frieda.
Taking a phrase and expanding the meaning of it is perfect...
Who wants it "once" anyhow...?
I think this was special!

Thanks Scott, glad you understood where I was coming from....much appreciate your thoughts.
Love can do that sometomes. Be great for the time then turn sour over time, or then and there at that moment, having lonliness enter. Or one accepts it by staying in it, going along being miserable for whatever reason that keeps the person in their clutches. And a shame when it happens to good people. Nicely done.

As long as were strong, we can prevail through anything. :o)
You can't go home again...I know...I've tried.
Just have to shift your paradigm...find the unusual in the everyday...
Nice trip into a depleted mindset..

A Woman's heart is a secret chamber men can only imagine and look at amazement from outside ...that's the suspense, that's the thrill and that's the beauty...also the invitation :)

Oddly stirring review, thanks muchly Avinash ;-)
There is something oddly soothing about this 'Apprehension's Rhyme'. It exudes a calm demeanour and does its work beautifully. It feels like a poem of acceptance. Good job! =)
