Rhapsodic Poetic Pearls

Rhapsodic Poetic Pearls

A Poem by Frieda P
"

~breathe me

"
There are times when poetry is just simply, poetry
words coming together that sing a song or rhyme
ideal ideas summoned within muse's rhapsodic thoughts
more often times about death or eternal life
Love's blindness or universal forgiveness
pearls of wisdom don'd in a pen's signature
Grand reasoning of exhilarating proportions
       script'd without fear or apprehension,
or just fun to roll off the tongue
  Saucy soul sisters serendipitously saunter
  Bodacious baubles bubble beautifully bound
It's remembrances, past, future and todays
exalted lovers who cuddle and coo us
& those which are the bane of our existence
Rainbows and stars leaping over cobalt'd blue moons,
       cherished reminiscent of bygone days
Gods, goddesses, fairies and berry, cherry dust

Kisses a bazillion miles deep, marmalade delusions,
hugs that reach across skies, wrapp'd in tissue'd allusions
Dancing upon stratospheres of nectar'd light
Joie de vivre of pickled posies
held together with flecks of luminosity's glow
Apricot and golden threads of an echoes' flow
indistinguishable like two peas in a pod
  tantamount to polar opposite compulsions
or scatter'd altered sentiments at random
tango together to console inamorata's tiffs
Flamboyant and flashy or restrained, no rules apply
    still playfully submerged on paper
Grandiose finale of rhythms imaginative encore
a celebration in life's masterpiece of poetic license

My favorite lines.

I love poems which deal with poetry and you nailed this one, Frieda. I love your alliteration in:
"Saucy soul sisters serendipitously saunter" and "Bodacious baubles bubble beautifully bound".

Your very welcome Frieda. :-) :-D
The power of poetry. Its pull, its joy, its solace, and eclectic mix of emotions -- summed up by a lovely poetess.

Maybe this should be on the front page of the cafe...cause it sums us all up doesn't it?! This is brilliant Frieda! It's what keeps me coming back here...no rules and no need for safe words:)

That's why poets can do what they do. There are no absolute rules. The words can fly, the words can flounder, the words can speak of a thousand things...or only one...

There are so many words I love here. but the remarkable thing is they fit like they've always fitted. They are joined like its natural and its a wonder they've only now been joined.

Ken, your words mean a lot, coming from a poet I adore, thank you muchly.
He smiles saying, "Yep, that about covers it..."
Me too. Sometimes acoustic guitar, no band, clear themes of ernest composure.
And others, David Lee Roth style, rolling vocals sexy, with all the flair and wile.
But you go beyond two styles, your eluding to at least 6 themes...
Good control of the movement and transition. I do these a bit myself.
Writing layered verse and rhyme scheme. Not easy. Most do one or the other.
You've a knack for this way of writing.
So I humble us both. How convenient.
Fun to read. Fun to think about.
If it makes me ramble... its a good thing.
I like your fruity bubbly bodacious bazillion floaty space words,
kinda like a fun house.
Cool write. And very true.
You honor poetry.
