this is what little girls are made of,

          when they come from abuse...

One out of every three girls will be sexually assaulted by the age of 17. 

 1 out of 7 children are abused, most often by family members.

 How many do you know?  We can't afford to ignore it...

A change to society is needed as soon as possible and this thinking coming from misogynists in power needs to stop, and more light needs to be brought to the issue in its reality. I"ve been taken aback by a couple of friends over the years that confided in me about their abuse. It happens way more often than any knows ... so many of the victims are silent ... or silenced. I, personally, cannot imagine what the ongoing lifetime affects may be ... I suppose their different for everyone. God bless all these children. No matter how long ago it happened, it happened to a child.

You voice a terrible truth here... and the damage extends far beyond the abuse. In the case of little girls they often end up in relationships where they are subjected to domestic violence or their own children are victimized. The cycle is viscious and heart breaking. By protecting just one child we prevent years of devastation and the possibility of numerous future victims. Awareness is the key...
