break her down,

    make her cry 

 & split her crown/

  or whatever...

this is what little girls are made of,

          when they come from abuse...

One out of every three girls will be sexually assaulted by the age of 17. 

 1 out of 7 children are abused, most often by family members.

 How many do you know?  We can't afford to ignore it...

A change to society is needed as soon as possible and this thinking coming from misogynists in power needs to stop, and more light needs to be brought to the issue in its reality. That's so true. It shouldn't be happening at all. I feel so sorry for the kids that get abused and sexually assaulted. No one should ever have to go throw it.

Innocence is robbed mostly by those the child trusts and then they don't trust at all. They grow broken. Society's pretended ignorance to wordless child's plight is main reason for the manifestation of such disease.

The wording here is so simple, so strong... "pick a posy... pop a posy..." Little girls (all children, actually) should be cared for like flowers, cultivated, fed, with a gentle touch... Your statistic is so sad, so true... How many do I know? Been teaching for 23 years... some brave enough to talk, others, I am dismayed to say, we never knew... This is a stunningly raw and amazing write, Frieda.

Working with kids, I had a feeling you could relate to this on a personal level, it's appalling, and I'm sure the statistics are much higher, those that are never reported. We had an infant girl at our center, only 4 months old, we had to report her father to DYFS...makes me livid and turns me inside out with disgust. Thanks for reading this one Rita.

Child abuse is such a terrible thing. To think that just one person, just one act, just one moment, could scar a poor, innocent child who has done nothing wrong for the rest of their life. What's worse is that this topic is not a recent or new one, this has been going on for ages, and is present in every country. And yet, still no one does anything about it. These horrendous acts continue occurring behind closed doors and these children are still so very afraid to speak up and cry out for help. And what scares me the most... We might know a child or teen who's dealing with these problems as we speak, and we will never know, because they are too afraid of their molesters. Such a strong topic, such a powerful message...

It's subjects like this that make you wonder about the value of the human race,that people could sexually
abuse a child for some sort of gratification is beyond what I think we are here on earth for, it truly makes me wonder if the human race is going to go the way of the dinosaur. There is absolutely no justification for hurting a child for any reason. Instead of teaching infants to swim I think we should teach them self defense........................

BREAK THE SILENCE!!!! sorry Frieda don't mean to shout, but how can we not!!!! SHOUT, ACT, STOP these acts of violence... Laws aren't going to do it, we alreaqdy have these laws, what we is a whole new society and the power to do away with these atrocities... Pop goes the posy of violence.. another statistic, (don't know actual figures, but its on the rise) is the violence of the sex trade and porn done to kids and women..

Thanks so much curt, yes SHOUT it from the rooftops, still people will remain deaf, dumb and blind to these atrocities, no one wants to get involved, especially when it involves family. Oh, the sex trade and kiddie porn brings me to my knees, there has to be a special place in hell for those people, one can only hope!
