Redundant metamorphosis
enchantment of
old man winter's claw
tucked away smugly
warped in fusion'd lithium's disorder
rhapsodic inception cease
to venture in light's flight
The dark of winter seems to sneer at the creative mind at times, as if to say is that all you got. I think you showed him what's what.
I can't help but draw out the feeling of trepidation emerging from this poem, feeling trapped in anticipation for what's to come, yet never to see it, for you're frozen, suspended in an eerie reality that feels like a fantasy gone wrong. Intriguing . . .

I'm not sure if the amazing Savador Dali painting inspired your poem or if you chose the art after writing, but the two go so well together, you truly have created a poetic masterpiece. Dark and delicious Frieda, so many brilliant lines it is impossible to pick a fav. Saving this one my friend.

A deep, dark write from you this time, Frifri - I couldn't have said it better than what Jack has said, I agree with him 100% , I am speechless at how amazing this is. You never fail to amaze me and blow me away.

So jazz'd you enjoyed reading this mess in my head noodlebumble ;-)
I am really liking this darker, gothic you that has been coming out in these works. although all you work is wonderful you excel at humor and darkness... it reminds me of me...but with more womanly pieces parts. :)

Haha why doesn't that shock or surprise me, thanks Scott. ;-)
The form is a bit of a stylistic departure, but the content remains quintessential Frieda. It's also a bit longer than your traditional works, but clearly you had a lot to say. I'm not sure if I see a jaded lover or an ode to poetry itself here...I think it could be both. It's such a labour of love, this thing we do, poetry...it's intense, personal, cathartic, rhapsodic (to use one of your images), therapeutic, and the list goes on. I guess I don't need to say that I enjoyed the presence of Old Man Winter here (though it's important to point out that it's the scenery of Winter that I love, something I don't associate with the Old Man himself...and the Dali at the end...that made me smile even though the piece is quite bittersweet...and I haven't heard the Violent Femmes in ages haha. As per usual, there are too many lines for me to cite individually...this is very much a piece that is greater than the sum of its lines, another trademark of yours. Sterling work from start to finish my dear...nicely done :)

If you want to know me, read my poetry, it's all in there. I am a mother of three sons (my finest moments) a sister, a survivor and a little bit crazy. I lost my beloved sister to suicide, so you'll.. more..
