'Opheliac~

'Opheliac~

A Poem by Frieda P

My eternal spring of Ophelia ~
   madness bedecked of wildflowers
 vacant within virginal white tears
sunk to the depths of despair
ocean's vast siren call
    consuming beyond reality
barefoot'd romanticizing
   melancholy waves of emotions
sank in a lover's betrayal
   stately and classical dignity
 feigned delusions of confusion
delirium of mania's absurdity
      secretly married ruse of insanity
 doused in bewildered over flow
      preserving a life within entity~
   Fleurs éternelles de la France

Lorsque vous parlez français, il donne tout le poème je ne sais quois! Hamlet went mad with his love for her. Quite the Valentine's Day thought, n'est pas? In your eternal Spring, will you go to a nunnery as Ophelia was instructed to do? No way! You will sing your songs (write your poems) handing us the flowers they create in our minds. I so enjoyed the fact you used a Shakespearean character as the inspiration here. Wonderfully unique....and so YOU! Lydi**

I will never fully understand this type of behavior. Yet the story is always tragic. Why can we not learn?
The poetry here was strong Frieda. I think this could be one of your very special writes. I'm impressed.

You have done her justice and more with your classy and romaticizing aspects. The white tears in the depth of despair is a powerful imagery that sums it up. An excellent pen upon this...:)...........

Grazie mille Ahena! :-)
This is very good, love the idea of turning a proper noun into an adjectice, then the poem laced with a beautiful line of French ( my grandfather was French, a journalist who worked in London). The picture is (I believe) Pre-Raphealite...a great package here...
