Dear Frieda, you have a mastery over transporting your reader to places that can only exist in some impossibly beautiful realms of their beleaguered minds...Here, I was transported to a beautiful, hazy twilight with a dream lover in a quaint, lovely villa full of comforts, a poor, harassed me can only think of...
scent'd of twilight's mysteries & amber brandy
a calm filled of shivers kind sympathy and tea
parched of wither'd revered druthers,
begotten heavy sighs of never forgotten harmony
etch'd within scorched reminiscence's memoirs
rewritten script'd blossomed desires on dusty shelves
A thundering ovation!

Frieda, you always cease to amaze me how you can write so many wonderful poems and each one blows me away.

Sigh... I want to stay on this page forever and never ever leave again. You have me sighing, think I could just jump into my screen and stay here? :-) I am at a loss for words, you blow me away each time.

I love love this! The word pairings are just plain brilliant. You are a genius, Frieda. I'm starting to think you have swallowed an unabridged Webster dictionary.

I really love the concept of the poem. A refelection, a reminiscence of desire frozen in a point of time. There are some sublime lines here, like
"scent'd of twilight's mysteries & amber brandy" and
"wistful for the dance 'tween spaces of sublimity's poesy " .
Personally, the poem is a bit too verbose and the sentiment gets overshadowed by the length of the lines, but that's a minor niggle.
Anyone who can write such a poem is obviously extremely talented!

Doing the happy dance, thanks so much for your kind words Abdul!
Your poem is the first and only thing I've read so far on writerscafe.org but I was compelled to register and say how beautiful I think your poem is. Thank you for sharing it! It's been a long time since I've read any poetry, and to read this feels like I unexpectedly met an old friend that I lost touch with long ago. Who knew I would find a warm fire this winter night? Thanks again~

What a lovely thing to say, much appreciated, and welcome to the cafe...thank you kindly.
If you want to know me, read my poetry, it's all in there. I am a mother of three sons (my finest moments) a sister, a survivor and a little bit crazy. I lost my beloved sister to suicide, so you'll.. more..
