Corrupt'd Affection

Corrupt'd Affection

A Poem by Frieda P
"

~fine line between love/hate

"
In the restlessness of souls
  the rustle of unease'd hearts
there's a gossamer spirit
  flowing slowly at rapid intensity
pierces the skin's brawn, severs deep
   blood pours freely in harmony
whilst consciousness resists
  recollections of serene melodies
gone array within truths
  sour words that maimed reason
sounds of contemptuous nectar'd flesh
mad passion extinguished/
   vehemently with all its might
raining fire in torrents of discontent
games of life, cheated the rules
   intricate arguments to contest
beastly duality of love and hate
that frivolous fine line that exists
when fidelity is stained and tainted

Sometimes that line is so fragile very on one side or the other and that is where the problems begin. When it ends, it ends...when one strays over that line it is the beginning of the end, and in most cases...just a runway to jump start the end. Your poem today my friend paints that line, shows us both sides and brings to the forefront how thin that line really is. To love or to hate...often these are questions that are easily answered and at other times not. But I am sure you can hate to love someone and just as easily, love to hate. I guess it depends on who is standing on the other side of that line.

Very well penned my sweet friend.

This is so truthful. And in your own distinct style, the fickle nature of it all and how tenuous it all is. One thing, the IT's needs fixing, I think, 7 lines from the bottom. At least with me, you always know I actually read it!

I love all Adele's songs . In good tandem with this piece of yours. Your piece speaks louder than words. Scorned love and broken trust are a deadly combination. Splendid write my friend

Me too, she sings with her soul from a guttural place, thanks, jazz'd you enjoyed Neil.
Fidelity stained and tainted ... one of the hardest feelings to deal with when a commitment has been defiled. As usual, your words are extraordinary.

Yes, leaves such lasting scars, thanks so much stargazer.
feeling does overpunch identity sometimes, but is a broken-heart partly just a misperception? A cognitive lapse in the inability to cope with change? I think it's all a question of compatability and why lovers choose difficult other lovers is beyond me. You have given me food for thought Frieda!

People fall in love or cheat on each other, every day - I think we have to keep in mind mating is an "evolutionary game" where a part of us secretly looks at costs and rewards and sometimes acts on impulse.

There is a thin line between love and hate and sometimes when you're in a relationship if you go over the line you're putting the relationship in danger in a way. Your poem is extremely descriptive and really shows that line. This is magnificent. I agred with everything Jack has said.

Flip flops & all that jazz!

Touchee!!!!!!
If you can love someone with every fibre of your being then you can under the right circumstances hate them that much as well. In matters of the heart things can get very ugly...infidelity, jealousy, rage..may combine to ignite a megaton explosion that no one will survive. But sometimes its just years of petty behaviour and indefirrence that turns once passionate lovers to mortal enemies. You hit this one on the head hard!! ;-)

dear Frieda... Kindness and a deep love
can heal... but it is rare. Your poem
describes a deep hurt... and I can feel the pain.
Your pen is gifted and your spirit is rich.
