Pandora's Paradox~

Pandora's Paradox~

A Poem by Frieda P

Press the outer limits
 of sanity
consenting
 to denial's deep fix
engrossed in past filings
oblivious
 to the ebbs and flow
whilst darkness looms,
slicing through
 distinct fears,
hearts frozen past
masking pain
 with a smile,
 dancing alone on a wire
the world moves
 forward
with or without words
awaiting
a finished masterpiece,
scavenging
 for a new reality
never finding an ending,
closure
 a foreign enigma
an inexpugnable defeat,
losing
 the grip on life
meekly accepting fate,
running
 headlong to acquiescence
multitudes of quantum
 leaps towards
confining
 self made prisons,
unto
 exhaustive
 ~paradox of secrets~

The title intrigues me from the very start. It made me think about mythological box from the Greeks. It made me read more about the subject matter maybe because I have a vague memory about the storyline of the box. Hehe…

“Pandora's box triumphs...”

The myth’s says that the box contains all the evil in the world. But I would say the storyline of the myth is not much related to this piece, yet it is your own version, your own box – It explains your denial and being the prisoner of your own doing or self-made choices. This box contains secrets that is hard to let go and it confines you to your own sanity.

Very nice work my friend. :)

Hmmm, I've been called an enigma wrapped in a paradox once or twice, thanks Scott.

This is such an interesting and thoughtful write. The walls we build, the secrets around us, do we open them up, or live inside them? Is the headlong small on purpose to match the shape?

Thanks Shaquana, glad you enjoyed :-)
Self-made prisons and a paradox of secrets. I believe I have stood at those crossroads. Beautifully penned despite the underlying angst of before and now.
